Getting JRI/rJava to work
Hello All
I am trying to get the JRI examples from rJava to work on Windows XP and
failing. (And as a more general and connected question is there any
review/summary of front-end software for R?)
I have installed rJava from the Windows binary supplied. I compile and
run the example supplied (rtest.java) and get the results below. I do
not think the notes about a deprecated API are a problem. But

How to assign names in a list
Hi All
How can you associate names with a list when names have not been
assigned? For example if you have a list like this:
list2<-list(1,2,3)
list2
[[1]]
[1] 1
[[2]]
[1] 2
[[3]]
[1] 3
How do you make it look like this with names? :
f1<-1
f2<-2
f3<-3
list1<-list(name1=f1, name2=f2, name3=f3)
list1
$name1
[1] 1
$name2
[1] 2
$name3
[1] 3
Thanks for any help.

How to count from larger value to smaller value in ecdf (Empirical Cumulative Distribution Function)
Hi, all
ecdf function (Empirical Cumulative Distribution Function) in "stats"
package counts from smaller values to larger values.
However, I want to draw it by counting from larger value to smaller values
and I couldn't find options for this purpose.
How can I draw ecdf or ecdf like graph by counting from larger values to
smaller values.
Thank you in advance.

help
Dear Sir/Madam,
I got some problem about using R.
I am a student, and need to use R a lot. But sometimes when I am working in
computer lab, we can not install some particular pacakges by ourselves because
of the previliges.
Can the folder of Librabry of R, move to, for instance the personal folder, my
documents... then we can install any specified package?
Best regards,

I'd be happy to do it. Can someone send me the patch as an attachment
off-list?

Print from wine
I'm running debian sarge and have installed wine with "apt-get" (wine
20041201). Afterwards I configurated it with winetools. Everything went
fine. I also installed the Internet Explorer and Office 2000.
There were no problems during the installation and IE and Office run without
problems besides printing. There I get error messages like "no printer
installed".

I am having a bit of trouble formatting my HTML with the desired number
of digits after the decimal place. Am I doing something

Looking at the example supplied with ?HTML.data.frame:
HTML(iris[1:2,1:2],nsmall=c(3,1),file="")
Gives html output that includes the lines:
