Lapack error in Design:::ols
Hi,
I'm trying to use Frank Harrell's Design:::ols function to do regression

mcmapply Core Usage
Hello,
I have a minimal example that shows a problem I'm having with parallel processing.
library(parallel)
mcmapply(function(x, y)
{
print("Running")
Sys.sleep(10)
}, as.list(1:10), as.list(10:1), mc.cores = 16, SIMPLIFY = FALSE)
I see "Running" printed once every ten seconds. I read the documentation for mcmapply, but I don't understand why it wouldn't

Random Count Generation with rnbinom
The documentation states :
An alternative parametrization (often used in ecology) is by the mean ?mu?, and ?size?, the dispersion parameter.
However, this fails :

[1] NaN NaN NaN NaN NaN NaN NaN NaN NaN NaN
Warning message:

For dispersion set to 0, it should work like drawing from a Poisson distribution.

Strange behaviour of methods::slot() when returning a tibble
I have an S4 object class defined in a Bioconductor package which contains multiple slots, some of which are tibbles, whilst others are vectors. If I call
slot(object, name)
where 'name' is an slot that contains a vector, everything works as expected. However, when I call slot(object, name) where 'name' is an slot that contains a tibble I get the following warning:

Sweave issue: quotes in verbatim-like output print incorrectly
Hi all
I love Sweave; use it all the time.
But I recently received a new computer, and ever since I
have had a problem I've never seen before.
For example, I place the following in my Snw file:

sms <-
read.table("http://www.sci.usq.edu.au/staff/dunn/Datasets/applications/popular/smsspeed.dat",
header=TRUE)
attach(sms)

Problem using xtable on an array
Hi all
I know about producing a minimal example to show my problem. But I'm
having trouble producing a minimal example that displays this
behaviour, so please bear with me to begin with.
Observe: I create an array called model.mat. Some details on this:

Ejecucion de script cada cierto tiempo
Buenos dias a todos,
Me gustaria genear n muestras de una N(0,1) a determinados intervalos de
tiempo. Asi por ejemplo, si el vector de tiempos es
tiempos <- c(2, 4, 6)
la primera columan debe generarse a los 2 segundos de ejecutado el script,
la 2a columna a los 4 segundos y la ultima a los 6 segundos. Al final el

Two == expressions in bquote
Hi,
I want to put text on a plot containing something like: a = b^2 = <squared numeric value of b> using bquote.
Example:
mu = 5
plot(1:10,1:10)
text(2,8, bquote(delta == mu^2)) # This works
text(2.5,8, bquote(phantom(0) == .(mu^2))) # but is unpredictable
text(2,8, bquote(delta == mu^2 == .(mu^2))) # This doesn't work
The last text function returns the error:

main= bquote(paste("Results for ", beta, "3", ==.(b1)))) doesn't work.
Hi,
I need to plot the beta as the symbol, followed by the index 3 as the title of a graph.
This code works> main= bquote(paste("Results for ", beta ==.(b1))
but I also need the index 3.
I tried (simplified):
>plot(x,y, main= bquote(paste("Results for ", beta, "3", ==.(b1))))
and a few other versions, but I can not get it to run properly.
Any help would
