Prototype error - iterator is not a function
I''m starting to learn to use Prototype (v1.5.1.1) along with Mootools.
However I keep bumping into the same problem:
All of the inserts result in the error "iterator is not a function" at
line 542 of Prototype
memo = iterator(memo, value, index);
Am I missing something obvious here? I''m wondering if there''s an
incompatibility between Prototype and Domino

prototype: leak with Element.extend
Had a nasty memory leak that was seriously slowing down the browser and
eating up a couple megabytes every reload. I was using:
$$(''.dyntable'').each(function(elm) { new DynTable(elm) });
To set up my behavior, but discovered that just running:
$$(''.dyntable'');
Caused the memory leak all by itself.
The fix I found for it was to change Element.extend to a

js filesizes too bookoo?
Howdy,
I use scriptaculous (and therefore prototype) to do mostly page effects,
no drag-n-drop, no sliders, etc.
Just wondering if there''s a way, other than modifing scriptaculous.js,
to not include all of the scriptaculous libraries for my app?
Also, is there a "lite" version of prototype that you can use with
sciptaculous like there is with mooFX?
Thx,
Dave

ajax in rails is a security violation
Does anybody have any issues with the AJAX code inside rails? Whenever i
use any sites i have built, or even external sites (such as basecamphq) my
internal security device blocks access to the Ajax piece with a 400 Bad
Request ( i scoured the net for other ajax examples and no isses anywhere
else). I think there is something in the AJAX code of rails that is not
implemented correctly. Has

"onload" event handler inside a div
Hi. I need help on what is essentially putting an "onload" event handler
into a div. I am using render :partial and when the partial is loaded, I
would like the divs to show using an effect from a library such as
scriptaculous or moofx. However, there is no "onload" for a div. I was
wondering what alternative methods I should use to achieve this.
Thanks!

Yahoo UI Library with Rails
Has anybody used the Yahoo UI library successfully with rails? I am
particulary interested in some of the ratings tools they used (like 4 out of
5 stars thing rating a post). Curious to see if anyone out there has worked
with this at all.

Scaffolding to use has_many and belongs_to ?
What does everyone on this list think about enhancing scaffolding
somehow so that a "has_many" relationship will automatically drop the
<select> box into the view to reference the "belongs_to" part of the
view?
I think scaffolding is great but I am always adding the <select> boxes
to reference the parent association. Do you think this would be
useful? just a

Prototype $A not defined
Hello,
I apologize for posting prototype related email to this list, yet I
have not seen any reference to email or list on the prototype web site
and I know the author of that library is part of the rails development

Basically I have installed "FireBug" which is a

Error when prototype.js is loaded
I have some javascript on my page which contains an array for a menu.
Without protoype.js loaded, I don''t receive any js errors. However,
once I load prototype.js, my code for my menu shows an error. This
area was coded prior to implementing prototype.js, so it is not
dependent on prototype, but other site functions will be.
Here is the error that I get:

derive.js - Ruby-esque derivation/mixins for Prototype
All,
I whipped up a small extension for Prototype to solve some modeling
issues I was having on a large JS project.
I know there have been serveral alternative "write JS in Ruby" type
efforts, including ruby.js, rb2js, and prototype.js itself, but I was
hoping to keep it as light as possible while gaining the most powerful
aspects of derivation/mixins/callbacks. Much like the prototype

Rails Best Practices Page
Hey,
I have been progressively learning more and more rails each day
(from both a current project, reading the agile book, and this list).
Does anybody think it would be beneficial to have kind of like a rails
"Best Practices" page that lists some of the better ways of handling
certain functions of rails (that are common in most apps) that are
both more elegant, and efficient.

Prototype.js and Coremetrics eluminate.js issues
Hi,
I am trying to use prototype.js on a JSP that also contains some
javascript from Coremetrics (eluminate.js). Coremetrics is used for
tracking marketing clicks.
When I have both of these javascript imports on the page I get
javascript errors in the eluminate.js file. I get javascript errors
that say "Undeterminate string constant."
It looks like the prototype.js file is somehow

Using prototype.js Documentation - UPDATED VERSION TO COVER 1.4.0
Hi Everyone,
The most popular documentation on prototype.js now got even better.
The earlier one was for version 1.3.0. Sergio Pereira has updated his documentation
to cover prototype.js version 1.4.0.
