last.warning and function problem
Hello,
I am a newbie in R and I am trying to create a function, that includes
several functions inside.
To avoid that everything stops if there is an error, I have this statement
bla = function(....){
...
if(exists("last.warning")){rm(last.warning)}
...
}
inside the function, which if I use it normally, it works fine, but once I
use it with the funciotn it gives me an error like:

xyplot: different scales accross rows, same scales within rows
Dear list members,
I would like to set up a multiple panel in xyplots, with the same scale
for all colunms in each row, but different accross rows.
relation="free" would set up all x or y scales free... which is not what
I want :-(
Is this possible?
Thank you in advance,
Best wishes,

It is for a PCA kind of analysis, where I wanted to present as the limits

how often we use the libraries/packages in R
Dear list members,
I am trying to make a clean up on my computer (windows problems, off course), and I wanted to remove some libraries that I have installed in R, which have been hardly used.
Is there any way to see how often each library is used by us?
I have many that I am not sure... because they can be used with other packages, etc.
Thank you very much in advance,
Best wishes,

approx function wierd result
Dear R-list members,
I am calculating the linear extrapolation for a data set, using the function
found in Hmisc.
x=c(0.0265,-0.0003,0.0142,0.0263,0.0634,0.1145,0.2504)
y=c(58,107,152,239,362,512,724)
x1=0.0393216
approxExtrap(x,y,x1, method="linear")
approx(x,y,x1)
#to see what is happening:
plot(x, y, typ="o")
abline(v=x1, col=8)
Which gives x=0.03 and y=163, instead of

crimson editor
Hello,
Sorry about the last email, I just found the shortcutkey for sending, by
mistake :-(
OK. I am a windows user and I wanted to instal emacs. However, went to
speak with the information staf on the institut and they told me that that
is a bit problematic sometimes, and that there is a free soft that could do
a very similar job which is crimson...
This is like a note pad, but highlights the

graph resolution windows (dpi) using x11 device
Dear list members,
After looking in the www, I found this subject has been in discussion
previously on the mailing list, although I could not solve it. I also
found two wikis, but similarly, could not reach a conclusion.
I need to re-produce my figures with 1200 dpi, in tiff format, for a
journal (off course :-s).
I am working on windows xp professional, R version 2.7.1, using x11 to

loop and plot
Dear all,
I am stuck at applying loop function for creating separated plots.
I have coding like below:
dataset.table <-
table(data.frame(var1=c(1,2,3,1,2,3,1),colour=c("a","b","c","c","a","b","b")
))
kk = function(f)
{

dnbinom(,size<1,)=0 (PR#842)
This came up on r-help but indicates a bug.
dnbinom(x,n,p) calls dbinom_raw(n-1,...)
which returns 0 for n<1.

difference in using with() and the "data" argument in glm call
Dear all,
I am dealing with the following (apparently simple problem):
For some reasons I am interested in passing variables from a dataframe
to a specific environment, and in fitting a standard glm:
dati<-data.frame(y=rnorm(10),x1=runif(10),x2=runif(10))
KK<-new.env()
for(i in 1:ncol(dati)) assign(names(dati[i]),dati[[i]],envir=KK)
#Now the following two lines work correctly:

Consistant test for NAs in a factor when exclude = NULL?
Dear folks?
Is there a function to correctly find (and count) the NAs in a factor when
exclude=NULL, regardless of whether their origin is in the original data or
by subsequent assignment?
In example number 1 below, where NAs are assigned by is.na()<-, testing the
factor with is.na() finds the correct number of NAs. In example number 2,
where the NAs are from the data, neither is.na(), ==NA,

Memory leakage/violation?
Hi,
I've spotted a possible memory leakage/violation in the latest R v2.1.1
patched and R v2.2.0dev on Windows XP Pro SP2 Eng.
I first caught it deep down in a nested svd algorithm when subtracting a
double 'c' from a integer vector 'a' where both had finite values but
when assigning 'a <- a - c' would report NaNs whereas (a-c) alone would
not. Different runs
