Rserve/RandomForest does not work with a CSV?
Hi all,
We're using Rserve and RandomForest to do classification from within a
Java program. The total is about 4 lines of R code:
library('randomForest')
x
y
future
fit<-randomForest(x,y,no.action=na.roughfix,importance=T,proximity=T)
p<-predict(fit, future)
What is very frustrating is that we have tried this two different ways
(both work in R):
1. Load x, y, and future

Problems with fonts on linux using GDD
Hi
Apologies for this question.
I have read the help for GDD and font mapping, and it tells me that the
config file, /usr/lib/R/library/GDD/fonts/basefont.mapping is
responsible for mapping fonts to the GDD library.
However:
> .GDD.font()
[1] "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/l048013t.afm"
[2] "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/l048016t.afm"

Problems using lwd in GDD
hi
I'm using the GDD package (in a 64bits fedora machine using R 2.3.0) to save
in a png file some plots and i noticed that changing the lwd parameter does
not change my line width
I tried the same script in a Windows based R (2.2.1 r36812), using no GDD,
and it worked.
Does anybody has a clue?
My testing script is something dumb like this:
library(GDD)
GDD("pres24.png",

cairo and rapache
I'm trying to get Cairo and RApache to work together on OS X leopard.
Initializing Cairo stops the whole HTTP response. Apache logs show
this message:
Break on
__THE_PROCESS_HAS_FORKED_AND_YOU_CANNOT_USE_THIS_COREFOUNDATION_FUNCTIONALITY___YOU_MUST_EXEC__
() to debug.
The process has forked and you cannot use this CoreFoundation
functionality safely. You MUST exec().

Rserve alternative?
The Rserve documentation at
http://rosuda.org/Rserve/doc.shtml#start
states that even when making multiple connections to the Rserve,
Windows won't separate workspaces physically and share environments,
which will obviously cause problems and should therefore not be used.
Are there any alternatives for the windows platform?

rapache memory problem
Hi all;
Now I'm developing web application by using rapache in ubuntu.
My problem is that as users execute the application, the server PC cumulates
memory.
After users close or refresh the application page, the server PC memory is
still cumulated.
Now I'm renewing apache machine by manually in terminal.
Is there any way to kill memory when users refresh or close the application
page?

problem loading rgdal with Rapache, problem solved due to libexpat with apache.
Has anyone had problems with Rapache that don't show up on command line
execution of R? I just ran into this loading rgdal in Rapache page and having
a problem with loading shared object. The final complaint was that Stop_XMLParser
was undefined- this was surprising since grep -l showed it in expat lib and it worked
fine from command line. Finally, I noted the search path had apache/lib ahead

Import R-output into Java
Hello,
I want to import R-output via Rserve to Java, especially for the function
ctree from the package party.
Rserve is working properly.
Yet, I only get the predictions with the Java code
try{
RConnection c = new RConnection();
...
c.voidEval("modell <- ctree(...)");
REXP y = c.eval("nodes(modell,1)[[1]]$prediction");
