WinBUGS with R
Dear Users,
I am new to both of things, so do not blame me too much...
I am busy with semiparametric regression and use WinBUGS to sample
posteriors.
The code to call Winbugs is as follows:
data <- list("y","X","n","m") #My variables
inits.beta <- rep(0,K)
inits.beta0 <- 0

Errors when saving output from WinBUGS to R
Dear all
I used R2WinBUGS package's bugs() function to generate MCMC results. Then I
tried to save the simulation draws in R, using read.bugs() function. Here is

A question about R2Winbugs
Dear R users:
I was trying to fit a HMM with mixture of Gaussian into the dataset, and I
tried to implement it by R2Winbugs. But I got the following errer.
*
Error in FUN(X[[1L]], ...) :
.C(..): 'type' must be "real" for this format*
Does anybody know what's the problem? Does R2Winbugs accept some matrix as
inits? I would really appreciate your help. Thank you very much.

reading in tab delimited data in a loop
Dear all,
I need to read in 4 sets of tab delimited data in a loop. The 4 data sets are called "simu1.dat", "simu2.dat" and so on. I know what I need on the righthand side of the read.table expression but I can't the left hand side of it to work (see the line in bold below). Can you kindly help? Many thanks.

problem in integrating C routine with R on windows XP
Hi All,
I a C function code, which has been successed in integrating
with Splus on Unix. Now I want to move it on windows.
So I want to integrate this C function with R on windows XP.
I download tools.zip and saved it in c:\bin directory,
download MinGW and saved it in c:\MinGw directory,
download Perl and saved it in c:\Perl directory.
My path is set as:

Problem retrieving data from R2InBUGS
Dear list
I am calling the functiton bugs() provided by R2WinBugs to performs an IRT analysis. The function returns a set of estimated parameters over n replications/iterations. For each replication, two sets of person measures (theta1 and theta2) and two sets of item difficulty parameters (diff1 and diff2) are returned. The code used to obtain these estimates is as follows:

a small question about R with Winbugs
I try to do a test for dirichlet process for Multivariate normal, but Winbugs
always says "expected multivariate node", does that mean I miss something at
initialization? I will really appreciate the help to solve this problem
Here is the R code, and Winbugs code.

R, Coda, and OpenBUGS
Hi All,
I am trying to figure out how to use R-Coda with the output from
OpenBugs. I have installed and loaded the packages BRugs and R2WinBUGS.
I have successfully run a simple Bayes model in WinBUGS using R2WinBUGS'
"bugs" and have used "read.bugs" to build the coda object. I can
successfully switch to OpenBugs and run the same model and get the basic

R2WinBUGS sending variables as factors
Hello R and BUGS users,
I am writing a heirarchical model in R to send to BUGS via R2WinBUGS and
I am finding it difficult to get the model to run. I seem to be having
two problems.
1) I can't seem to send variables classed as factors (Month), is there a
way do this?
2) Checking the Log in WinBUGS I can see that the model is Syntactically
correct, but Bugs is not able to recognise the the

My surprising experience in trying out REvolution's R
I care a lot about R's speed. So I decided to give REvolution's R
(http://revolution-computing.com/) a try, which bills itself as an
optimized R. Note that I used the free version.
My machine is a Intel core 2 duo under Windows XP professional. The code
I run is in the end of this post.
First, the regular R 1.9. It takes 2 minutes and 6 seconds, CPU usage
50%
Next, REvolution's R.

Problems with R2WinBUGS
Hello,
I am trying to use R2WinBUGS to conduct a mixed treatment comparison (MTC)
analysis. On the surface, it seems to me that I am following the correct
steps: (1) reading the data into R, (2) specifying initial values for the
parameters in the model and (3) fitting the model to the data using the
bugs() function in R2WinBUGS. However, I get the error message

Which JAGS interface to use?
Frank (or anyone else), can you offer any comments comparing runjags,
R2jags, rjags ?
I couldn't find any vignettes, nothing except a brief mention on Task Views.

winbugs - R question
hi all
i would like to use r and winbugs in order to undertake seemingly unrelated regression. i am using the R2WINBUGS library. i just simulated a simple example (sample size is 25) in order to get the correct code.
i suspect that the problem is in my definition of the prior. it wants a multivariate node.
the example could be extended by including more than 1 X variable in the system of

fastest R platform
Hello, everyone! I picked up R several months ago and have adopted it
as my choice for statistical programming. Coming from a Java
background, I can honestly say that R is not only free, it is better
tha S-plus: the lexical scope in R makes it very simple to simulate
Java's object model. For this, I encourage everyone to read the artcle:

R2WinBUGS-Windows 7
Dear all,
I'm having a slight issue with R2WinBugs.... it cannot detect where WinBUGS is located.
Q: How can I change the default path?
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Regards
Erica
I'm using R2WinBUGs (R version 2.21.1) on windows platform (Windows 7).
I have downloaded WinBUGS14.exe and patch 1.4.3.
As i'm working with Windows 7 (similiar issues to Vista occur),
