3.01 & FreeBSD Port/Install Makefile Config
Hello, It appears that the FreeBSD port of Samba 3.0.x may be falling behind. The port maintainter does not use Winbind and thus has not kept up with the development of it. 3.0.1 will very shortly be ported to FreeBSD, currently it is still at 3.0.0. I know there have been some recent changes to Samba that help FreeBSD out, and I wanted to make sure that the port of Samba 3.0.x on FreeBSD stays

Binary packagers: BSD license issues
Adding this SHA256 code made me read the BSD license once again. It says: * 2. Then there are a few files from Cyrus as well which contain: * 4. Redistributions of any form

Puppet 3.0: Not authorized to call find on /file_metadata, more issues?
I''ve seen mention of this error in several places, with different causes. So before I posted here, I attempted to resolve this on my own. I corrected the change from puppet:///files to puppet:/// in my manifests *.pp files. No changes were made to the auth.conf file, and I did note in the ChangeLog that: Auth.conf differentiates between names and IPs – There’s a new allow_ip

system slowdown - vnode related
I woke up to a frozen box this morning - it froze up a few more times before I got a handle on it. Basically, the box runs idle but refuses to do disk IO, or does it -very- slowly. Top shows processes stuck in 'ffsvget', 'inode', and 'vlruwk' state. I can get the box responsive again by setting sysctl kern.maxvnods=100000. It starts up with kern.maxnodes=36079. I

Is MySQL 8.0 support with 2.3.4? they receive: checking for mysql_init in -lmysqlclient... no configure: error: Can't build with MySQL support: libmysqlclient not found ===> Script "configure" failed unexpectedly. Please report the problem to ler at FreeBSD.org [maintainer] and

write.table: strange output has been produced
Good afternoon all - While making a steady progress in learning R after Matlab I encountered a problem which seems to require some extra help to move over. Basically I want to merge a data from biological statistical dataset with annotation data extracted from another dataset using an 'id' crossreference and write it to report file. The first part goes absolutely fine, I have merged both

Installing local package under Windows.
I'm working on a system in which PCs (running various versions of Windows, mainly 98 I think) are networked together using a system called ``Novell''. I recently got our Computing Services people to install R on this system, and it appears to work seamlessly. I mainly want to use R in a time series course which I am teaching this term, and to that end I wanted to install a

Change Confidence Limits on a plot
Hi, I am attempting to set the confidence limits on a ls means plot as follows: mult<-glht(lm(effectModel, data=statdata, na.action = na.omit), linfct=mcp(mainEffect="Means")) meanPlot <- sub(".html", "meanplot.jpg", htmlFile) jpeg(meanPlot) plot(mult, main=NA, xlab=unlist(strsplit(Args[4],"~"))[1]) This produces 95% CIs by default but I would

SAS to R - if you have SAS 8.2+
Hi there, the attached R function uses the SAS Integrated Object Model (IOM) and it can deal with SAS dates and long variable names. All you need to provide is the folder where the SAS data file is and the data file name without the extension. The function requires the rcom package. This is meant to be first cut...but improvements and suggestions are more than welcome! Gyula import.sas.data

MySQL 8.0: Supported?
It appears the issue is MySQL 8.0.13 apparently(?) removed the mysql_init symbol. poudriere logs: http://home.lerctr.org:8888/jail.html?mastername=p120amd64-host-ports the first build is 8.0.12, the 2nd is 8.0.13. Can the dovecot guys look as well? I've sent a note to the MySQL maintainer for FreeBSD as well. Thanks. On Tue, Jan 15, 2019 at 1:15 AM Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo at

How to display y-axis labels in Multcomp plot
Dear R-users, I'm currently using the multcomp package to produce plots of means with 95% confidence intervals i.e. mult<-glht(lm(response~treatment, data=statdata), linfct=mcp(treatment="Means")) plot(confint(mult, calpha = sig)) Unfortunately the y-axis on the plot appears to be fixed and hence if the labels on the y-axis (treatment levels) are too long, then they are not

Problem with installing home-made package under Windoze.
I am using/trying to use R 2.2.0. I have created a package of ``supplementary'' time series functions for use by my students in a time series course. The package involves only raw R code; no dynamic loading to complicate matters. I need to install this package in a location on a local area network where the students can access it under Windoze. In the past I learned that I could do

Reading sas7bdat files directly
Hi, I have a need to process (in real-time) a large number of .sas7bdat files from within R. The problem is I don't want to convert these files to .xpt (transport) every time. So just checking if anyone has a (viable) way to read .sas7bdat files directly into R? Thank You. //---------------------------------- // Alex Bryant // Software Developer // Integrated Clinical systems //
