Something like, @tasks = Task.all @tasks.each { |task| task.destroy } Do I need another action for this, and what should the link to it be? cheers, DAZ --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because

Named link to image
Hiall, Call me stupid if you like .,) but it seems i can''t figure out how to get a named link using a combination of link_to and image_tag. What I need is basically a link displaying a name along with some image to indicate status (open, working, finished). I found no combination of link_to and image_tag that accepts a name, this seems to be solely used for making whole images into links

Liquid templates and forms
I have started to experiment with Liquid templates and all goes fine as long as I just display my stuff. But I want to get user input (using forms), and I couldn''t figure out so far whether and how liquid facilitates the use of forms, something like the form helper tags in .rhtml. Anybody knows about that ? -- Roberto Saccon - http://rsaccon.com -------------- next part --------------

comments on HAML ?
I have been asked a couple of times at job interviews if I am familiar with HAML or Liquid so I was wondering if maybe I should start using them and perhaps it would make the views easier to work with. If I install HAML on a machine where my app is that has alot of regular HTML in the .erb views already, will it still work with those or do I need to convert everything to HAML ? Can I have some

Computer Inventory: Problems Retaining Values in a Forms
This is my first rails app and I am creating a Computer Inventory system as practice. RJS implementation question
Why is RJS so dependant on programatic creation of Javascript? RHTML is a great implementation in that it puts HTML first, and Ruby second. I would have thought RJS would be the same way: a .js with ERb helpers for generating Javascript functions. RJS putting Javascript second means: - I have to learn a whole new set of commands to use Scriptaculous. - Developers have to constantly chase the

Can I turn off config.action_view.cache_template_loading in Production
I''ve got an app which users can edit the ERB templates for emails, the changes aren''t taking effect till the app restarts though because config.action_view.cache_template_loading = true I''ve seen various comments that suggest it has to be true when in Production for thread safety - is Rails actually running in a threaded manner yet? Surely this is a none issue at the

Ajax and rails 3 UJS (jquery)
Hi, guys, I''m in the midst of moving an app from rails 2.3.8 to rails 3.0.9. Sadly, rails 3 no longer has javascript generators and I''m now forced to do more javascript. For my project, I have selected jQuery as the javascript framework for my rails 3.0.9 app. What I have done to have my app''s deletion link (for each item) trigger an alert box when the deletion

Conditionally adding a link to a form -- how?
I''ve got two entities created by scaffolding: Expense & Vendor In Expense#new there''s a form with a Vendors-drop-down and a NewVendor- button. The latter button brings up Vendor#new. The Create button in Vendor#new brings up Vendor#show with Edit & Back links. I want to append a third link conditionally to Vendor#show: if the Expense#new form led to the Vendor#show

Dynamic Assets - can it be done?
I''m looking for 3 areas to work as dynamic assets: image_path, javascript_path, and stylesheet_path When I say dynamic, I mean that they will be dynamic through controller/models. I have been working through approx. 12 hours of searches to satisfy my answer to this question but am not finding much luck. The closest things I''ve found enabling this are use of config for assets

Link to remote and the equivalent in Rails 3
Hi WOW! Is Rails 3 another interesting learning curve. Just when I think I have a general working knowledge of Rails 2 ... things change. I''m trying to replicate the following in Rails 3: <%= link_to_remote image_tag("creditcard.png", :border => 0), :url => {:action => :make_payment, :type => "Credit", :id => @appt.id },

I tried the update and the it was successful but the update did not show up in any of the other pages. What did I miss? I am using 2.3.3 of ror.
