Make many barplot into one plot
Dear all, ## I have 4 tables like this: satu <- array(c(5,15,20,68,29,54,84,119), dim=c(2,4), dimnames=list(c("Negative", "Positive"), c("Black", "Brown", "Red", "Blond"))) dua <- array(c(50,105,30,8,29,25,84,9), dim=c(2,4), dimnames=list(c("Negative", "Positive"),

Barplot/Histogram (lattice)
Dear Rxperts.. what settings in barplot and histogram do I use, to show bars in an monotonously increasing or decreasing order of the frequency of a categorical variable? an example is provided below.. histogram(~factor(sample(letters,200,rep=T))) I was able to get it in 3 - 4 steps.. l a1 <- sample(letter,200,rep=T) a2 <- table(a1) barplot(a2); barplot(sort(a2)) # all variables are not

Add text to a stacked barplot
Hi All, I need some help in putting text in a stacked barplot. The barplot is filled with 5 levels and now I would like to put text to each level in the stacked barplot. However, it seems that the code that I am using is not placing the text at the correct hight (centered at each fill) in the barplot. Any suggestions to improve the code to make it work? barchart(FREQ ~ VISIT

barplot problem
Hello- I am having trouble making a barplot... The y-values are: data=c(-0.0002129061,0.0000000000,-0.0002699561,0.0163883061,0.0400000000). The x-values are distance=c(0, 71, 172, 206, 292). The desired x-range is 0 and ~300+ (kilometers), range=seq(0,300,1) I would like to make a bar plot with the bar locations along the x-axis spaced according to their distances. I have tried

make many barplot into one plot
Dear R users I would like to group my barplot graph (see example on the R help link). The proposed R code, adding individual bars to the plot, looks really overwhelming. My specific dataset just consists of five groups and three different levels within each groups (the individual bars). The .txt file is read as matrix (horizontal: group, vertical: levels). The R trellis barchart (function

barplot with some 0 frequencies
Hi all, I am back with a new question ! I recorded the occurence of 4 differents event on 20 places for a given time period. Now, I want to do some barplot of the frequency of theses events for each place, so it should be easy. My problem is that I want to see the frequencies of the 4 events on my barplots even if the frequency of some of them is 0. How could I do that ? Thanking you in advance

[External] Error in percentage stacked barplot
Dear Richard,? Thank you very much for your reply. I went through the code and it worked. I was also able to change the colours.? I was wondering if I can change the legend position; instead of being in the bottom to be on the left side.? I tried the following but without any success strip = FALSE strip.right = TRUE likert(t(hellisheidi), ReferenceZero=.5, xlab="X-lab",

Lattice stacked barplot vertical bars
Dear all, I have made a barplot using lattice in which the bars are stacked horizontally. I would like to stack them vertically, but if I use the parameter 'horizontal = FALSE' I get the error: 'Error in FUN(X[[i]], ...) : invalid 'type' (character) of argument'. The problem I face is that, in drawing the bars vertically, the y variable becomes numeric rather than

histogram-like barplot? (or reverse?)
Hi, I have a simple task I can't figure out. I'd like to take some measurements I made, e.g.: year (y-axis) 1 2 3 4 5 6 counts (x-axis) 10 10 20 30 40 50 And then, make a barplot with the x-axis ticks (representing the borders between years) between the bars. However, barplot seems to force you to make the x-axis arbitrary categories. I want it to be continuous (as in a

Barplot by two variables
Hi all I have a bit of a problem. I want to make a barplot of some data. My data is of a score that is separated by year and by a limit (above 3 and below 3 to calculate the score). Year Limit HSS 1999 ALT 0.675 1999 VFR 0.521 2000 ALT 0.264 2000 VFR 0.295 I would like to have a barplot with year on the x axis and HSS on the y axis and the two limits as two different colors to show the

barplot
Hi, I want to make a barplot with the following datasets: I have a file as following: name chr position A1 A2 pop1 pop1 pop2 pop2 I have calculated a measure using all the values in columns "pops", the values are saved in a vector. Now I want to make a barplot using the values in this vector as the y axis and the values in the column "position" in the x-axis. thank you

Question about barplot: gridlines & value labels
Hello! I promise I looked into help files before asking. Still cannot figure it out. I think it's because I am totally confused what packages use lettice, which use trellis, etc. Sections 1 and 2 below produce the data and the data to plot. My question is about barplot in Section 3. I am trying to: 1. add only horizontal gridlines and manipulate the type and color of that line. tck = 1 is not

more barplot presentation questions
Thanks to those who pointed me at the solutions to the legend overprinting the bars. I took the "easy" way of rescaling the y axis, picking the scaling factor for stacked bars is somewhat problematic but sufficient for my application. I have another couple of barplot questions: - Can I extend the major ticks on the Y axis across the page? Or both axes to form a grid? - A really

barplot of a table
Good morning, I've been dabbling in R, so my knowledge has quite a few holes in it. I'm hoping that this has a simple answer and just falls into one of those holes. I have a table of percentages that I want to display as a barchart. Groups 1-4 in columns and Variables 1-5 in rows, with the percentage of each group expressing interest in each variable in the cells. In Excel I just

barplot question
i'm doing a bar plot and there are 16 column variables. is there a way to make the variable names go down instead of across when you do the barplot ? because the names are so long, the barplot just shows 3 names and leaves the rest out. if i could rotate the names 90 degrees, it would probably fit a lot more. or maybe i can use space to make the horizontal width longer ? I looed up ?barlot but

stacked barplot colour coding
Hi all, i'm fairly new to R and its graphing, but having unsuccessfully 'googled' and checked this forum to find answer to my problem, i'm posting my question here. I'm trying to plot stacked barplot. I have simple data that looks like this: bg ag 0.41 2.81 0.37 2.91 0.31 2.06 0.32 2.39 every row indicates a factor (1,2,3,4, see below in names.arg). Now when i plot
