[non-statistics question]methodological problem
Good afternoon! As mentioned in the subject, my question regards more the methodological part that accompanies survey design and the statistical part that is involved. So, I have the following data: a<-data.frame (id_hh=c(1:5), strata=c(1,1,2,2,1), Nhstrata=c(100,100,200,200,100), Nrmemb=c(2,4,2,5,4)) a$ocmemb1<-c("wk","jl","st","jl","st")

SpatialPolygon with the max value gets no color assigned in spplot function when using "at" parameter
Hi, I would like to do coloring of map regions based on the region values "weight". The approach I am taking is first to break regions into equal intervals, classIntervals(spdf$weight,4)$brks #4 intervals in this case and coloring all regions within the interval with the same color col = brewer.pal(4,"RdYlGn")) The max "weight" is as well the boundary of the

R in batch mode
Hi Everyone, I am a new R user and trying to run R jobs in batch mode. Robert Muenchen (2009), in his book "R for SAS and SPSS Users", has suggested writing a small batch file like mR.bat as shown below: "C:\Program File\R\R-2.10.0\bin\Rterm.exe" --no-restore --no-save < %1 > %1.Rout 2>& 1 Could anyone tell me in which directory or subdirectory I should

svyplot
Hello, Using the svyplot () function, I have plotted four graphs that are saved in four different .png files. I am looking for examples how to redraw the same four graphs within grid viewports so that they stay together on a page. The goal is to create one .png file that will include all four graphs (2 rows, 2 columns). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Pradip Pradip K. Muhuri,

format.pval () and printCoefmat ()
Hi List, My goal is to force R not to print in scientific notation in the sixth column (rel_diff - for the p-value) of my data frame (not a matrix). I have used the format.pval () and printCoefmat () functions on the data frame. The R script is appended below. This issue is that use of the format.pval () and printCoefmat () functions on the data frame gives me the desired results, but coerces

cut ()
Hello List, My goal is to create a 5 category variable (p1_st_data$ob_mrj_cat), based on the p1_st_data$obt_mrj_p variable, using the following code for 50 States and District of Columbia (N=51). p1_st_data$ob_mrj_cat <- cut (p1_st_data$obt_mrj_p, quantile (p1_st_data$obt_mrj_p, (0:5/5), include.lowest=TRUE)) The issue is that, for Utah, I am getting an <NA> instead of (42,48.7] in

[ANNOUNCE] pymp3cut
Hi there, I'm pleased to announce the availability (CVS only for now) of pymp3cut. pymp3cut is a GPLed Python command line tool designed to automatically cut very big mp3 files according to a timeline, and postprocess each subfile with any tool of your choice in a single run. It's useful if you stream very long events (10 hours or so) like congresses using IceCast and want to cut the

Subscripting specified variables in a function

This is what I've tried so far.... > test.fx <- function(dta, expvar, expval) { + newdta <- subset(dta, eval(expvar)>expval) + summary(newdta$eval(expvar)) + } > >

Probabilities calibration error & ROCR
Hello, I'd need to compute the calibration error of posterior class probabilities p(y|x) estimated by using rpart as classification tree. Namely, I train rpart on a dataset D and then use predict(... type="prob") to estimate p(y|x). I've found the possibility to do that in the ROCR package, but I cannot find a link to a paper/book which explains the details of the

how to do model validation and calibration for a model fitted by fit.mult.impute?
Dear all, I used fit.mult.impute in Dr. Harrell's Design package to fit a cox ph regression model on five imputed datasets, where all missing predictors were filled by multiple imputation using R package Mice. Are there any functions able to do bootstrapping or cross-validation for the aggregated model? I tried function 'validate' and 'calibrate' in Design package, but

Gamepad calibration? Some bits not working...
Is there a way to calibrate gamepads for wine? I have managed to get my PS3 sixaxis working, but when I play a game, everything works properly but the analogue stick. If I move it all the way to the right or down, it goes in the opposite direction, respectively. Anyone know how I might fix this?
