'libRblas.so' missing in R 2.12.1
Dear R developers, I just compiled the latest version of R (2.12.1) and noticed that 'libRblas.so' is missing in the '/x86_64/src/extra/blas' subdirectory of my R-installation. Did I miss ongoing discussions on the Mailinglist about this or might it be a local problem? Thanks for this brilliant software. Best Christian -- Christian Kohler Institute of Functional Genomics ~

Problems with r-cran-rcurl in Trusty and Vivid. (Re: Install R on Ubuntu with libcurl support)
Hello everybody, by the way, speaking about the r-cran-rcurl package in Ubuntu, the versions in trusty and vivid are linked by error to the "NSS" flavour of libcurl3 instead of the "OpenSSL flavour", which cause at least problems when using the CRAN devtools package. A bit more details are available in the Debian bug tracking system (https://bugs.debian.org/786473). I am not

warnings although R CMD check runs without any problem
Dear list members, as I am new to R, I would kindly like to ask for your help. I checked a package with the 'R CMD check' command and all worked out well, (only 'OK' status). Loading its vignette afterwards with 'source("package.Rcheck/inst/doc/vignette.R")' yields a message saying that several (well, in my case more than 50) warnings still exist and can be

[BioC] Rcurl 0.8-1 update for bioconductor 2.7
Hi Patrick, Greetings from !(sunny) Pittsburgh. What's the scoop on RCurl on windows (XP)? I've tried to install RCurl_0.92-0.zip and RCurl_0.9-3.zip, with both R 2.7.2 and R 2.8.0 from the RGUI (utils:::menuInstallLocal), and get the error "Windows binary packages in zipfiles are not supported". which (according to google's one and only hit) comes from a perl script.

problem formatting and positioning title in heatmap
I am using heatmap with the arguments below. The title size stays the same no matter what I set cex.main to. Is this expected? Can I adjust the title size in heatmap? Also, the position of the main title is at the very upper edge of the output and if I use a "\n" to stack the title the upper line is out of bounds and doesn't show up. I am outputting to pdf. Any help? Thanks,

Install R on Ubuntu with libcurl support
What do you have installed as far as libcurl goes? Would you mind listing your packages and greping for libcurl entries. Perhaps I need some libcurl debs installed when I install r-base? FYI libcurl conflicts in ubuntu 18.04
One of the curl maintainers has pointed me to this bug report on Launchpad that may affect r-base users: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/curl/+bug/1754294 The issue is that ubuntu now ships both libcurl3 (gnutls, nss) as well as libcurl4 (openssl) which cannot be installed concurrently. Because r-base-core depends on libcurl4, it will conflict with any other packages depending on

tcltk error on Linux
I am having trouble getting tcltk package to load on openSuse 10.2 running R-devel. I have specifically put my /usr/share/tcl directory in my PATH, but R doesn't seem to see it. I also have installed tk on my system. Any ideas on what the problem is? Also, note that I have some warning messages on starting up R, not sure what they mean or if they are pertinent. Thanks, Mark Warning

trouble installing building packages from source using R 2.6.0 on Ubuntu Gutsy AMD64
I have recently upgraded to Ubuntu Gutsy and, for the first time, am using a 64-bit installation. After failing miserably to install R from source, not a problem for me in the past with a 32-bit install, I went the route of using the Debian Etch build. This went smoothly, but I am unable to update my numerous R and BioConductor packages, getting non-zero exit status errors on each package. Is

problem with merge
I have used merge regularly and thought I understood how it worked, but I must not. I have two dataframes with identical colnames from two different experiments, TL01 and LC01. Each dataframe has a column named "Entrez.Gene", which I have converted to "as.character" just to make sure merge is not looking at factor levels. Because I have done some filtering, the Entrez.Gene

For precise, from which you should really upgrade, you need to look at the very `help(options)` I pointed you to and select _the external curl or wget_ as the method for `download.file()`. Dirk -- http://dirk.eddelbuettel.com | @eddelbuettel | edd at debian.org
