Dovecot under brute force attack - nice attacker
Hi List, optimizing the configuration on one of our servers (which was hit by a brute force attack on dovecot) showed an odd behavior. The short story: On one of our servers an attacker did a brute force attack on dovecot (pop3). Since the attacker closed and reopened the connection after every user/password combination the logs showed many lines like this: dovecot: pop3-login: Aborted

input data file
Hello, I am new to R. I used scan() to read data from tab-delimited files. I want to save all my data files (multiple scan()) in another file, and use it like infile statement in SAS or \input{tex.file} in latex. Thanks!

Best mkfs.ext2 performance options on RAID5 in CentOS 4.2
I can't seem to get the read and write performance better than approximately 40MB/s on an ext2 file system. IMO, this is horrible performance for a 6-drive, hardware RAID 5 array. Please have a look at what I'm doing and let me know if anybody has any suggestions on how to improve the performance... Band-wise Conditional Sum - Actual problem
Dear R helpers, Thanks a lot for your earlier guidance esp. Mr Davind Winsemius Sir. However, there seems to be mis-communication from my end corresponding to my requirement. As I had mentioned in my earlier mail, I am dealing with a very large database of borrowers and I had given a part of it in my earlier mail as given below. For a given rating say "A", I needed to have the bad-wise

Extending RAIDZ.
Yeah:) I''d like to work on this. Here are my first observations: - We need to call vdev_op_asize method with additonal ''offset'' argument, - We need to move data to new disk starting from the very begining, so we can''t reuse scrub/resilver code which does tree-walk through the data. Below you can see how I imagine to extend RAIDZ. Here is the legend:

array
Hello, I have some files generated from microarray experiments. I used scan() to read the files, and assigned each file to a unique name with many rows and columns. Now I want to create a array (ArrayA) with unique names, and I can use ArrayA[1,2][[6]] to refer the data in each file. Is there any packages available for array of array? Thanks!
