indexing words with alternative spellings
Some languages (e.g. German and Danish) have special letters that are often written using two-letter combinations when the appropriate keyboard or medium is not available: ? = ae ? = ue ? = oe ? = ae ? = oe ? = aa ? = ss (there are undoubtedly far more examples than those) As a user of an index, I would like to be able to search for e.g. "schaefer" and get matches on both

Bug: Shared Mailbox - Case Sensitivity
Hi, unfortunately I found a bug in Dovecot's ACL handling for shared mailboxes. It turns out Dovecot doesn't enforce lower casing the privileged username to whom the mailbox should be shared to. This results in a invalid configuration. Users get confused, since they passed on a valid email address in their ACL setup. /usr/local/www/default/mail/test at

BUG - DELETE Public/Folder not working with Thunderbird
Hi, Unfortunately it looks like the parameter: "imap_client_workarounds = tb-extra-mailbox-sep" does not work. Neither inside nor outside "protocol imap {}" configuration section. ACLs are set correctly. Manual "DELETE Public/Test" via telnet is working as expected. Is this a known bug? See: - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Dovecot#Thunderbird -

sssd with ad backend and "ldap_id_mapping = false" refuse to start
Hello, we are using sssd version 1.12 on openSUSE 13.1 with Sernet-Samba Packages 4.1.11. Samba runs as a single AD DC We have removed the complete openSUSE samba stuff before testing. sssd runs on the same machine as samba. Poisson-Gamma computation (parameters and likelihood)
Good afternoon/morning readers. This is the first time I am trying to run some Bayesian computation in R, and am experiencing a few problems. I am working on a Poisson model for cancer rates which has a conjugate Gamma prior. 1) The first question is precisely how I work out the parameters. #Suppose I assign values to theta with *seq()* *theta<-seq(0,1,len=500)* #Then I try out the

"try"ing to understand condition handling
I'm confused by the page documenting tryCatch and friends. I think it describes 3 separate mechanisms: tryCatch (in which control returns to the invoking tryCatch), withCallHandlers (in which control goes up to the calling handler/s but then continues from the point at which signalCondition() was invoked), and withRestarts (I can't tell where control ends up). For tryCatch the docs say

Postfix , Dovecot & the Spam fight
Hi, I'm currently busy with a substiution of my current mail server. I'm currently using * Clam-SMTP and * SpamAssassin to fight Spam. I wonder if it is worth implementing AmaViS with SpamAssassin backend instead and also using AmaViS to speak to clamd directly. But I more and more wonder wether AmaViS is even worth it?! It currently looks to me as if AmaViS is eating LOTS of

BUG - DELETE Public/Folder not working with Thunderbird
Hi Anton, Thank you very much for your helpful hint. Thunderbird clearly wants to move Public/Test to the Trash of the user who subscribed the Public folder. Question is how to solve this from a Dovecot point of a view, so a user can also delete folders? 2020200448[10053c700]: proposed url = Public/Test folder for connection INBOX has To Wait = FALSE can run = FALSE 2020200448[10053c700]:

Stopping all code execution when ANY error occurs (OR error handling without try/tryCatch)
Hi all, I often run a bunch of code with Run Selection, and, after it's done running, I find there have been like 20 errors, all due to an error that occurred early in my code, which caused problems from there on. (I must then scroll up through lots of code to find it.) What I would like is for R to stop executing when an error occurs. I am aware of a few solutions: 1. Put all the code in a

React on select_tag (onchange)
Hi, I''m new in developint rails (but I love rails). I would like to react on changing a field in the view (no model field) from a selection box to show the number of rows (which I used in the controller). In the controller I read the params-hash: ... @rowsperpage = params[''rowsperpage''].to_i ... In the view I have the field, where I like to react directly. ...

Content-Enconding
Hi, With Apache one may use "mod_deflate" in order to reduce bandwidth by using e.g. gzip to compress the http traffic. I would like to use something similar for email traffic between mail clients to dovecote and postfix. My questions are: a) Is this established well enough in most mail clients? b) Can you recomment a good tutorial for this? Thank you very much

Simple error handling in R
Hi R experts, I am looking for a simple error handling approach, whereby I could stop function execution with a customized error message. For example: for (i in 1:10) { if (i == 5) # I'd like to be able to stop right here with an error message I have complete control over } The problem with stop() is that I cannot control completely what gets printed to the terminal, even with

Hi there! I'm trying to compile Wine on my Red Hat7.1. But during the compilation my system suddenly reboots without any error message. Under Red Hat 7.0 I also can't compile it, only on SuSE 7.0 does it work! What's wrong? What can I do about it? Thx Marius
