(Grouped + Stacked) Barplot
Hi All, I have googled and tried finding if someone has ever tried producing (Grouped + Stacked) Barplot. I couldn't find one. My data needs to be reshaped, but once it is done it would be something like this: Factor1 Factor2 Factor3 Value A X P 10 A X Q 20 A Y P 20 A Y Q 5 A Z P 20 A Z Q 10 B X P 20 B X Q 10 B

Placing the legend 'dynamically'
Hello, does anybody know which command to consider when I'm trying to plot a stacked barplot with a legend at the most empty portion of the graphic? I've searched for it, and somebody stated to use the labcurve-command, but I don't know how to produce stacked barplots with it. Is there any possibility to plot a legend box "dynamically" (= in an empty region) with the

How to add marker in Stacked bar plot?
Hi, I am working on stacked bar plot and want to add marker(arrow) in stacked bar plot. DF=data.frame(names=c("tomato", "potato", "cabbage", "sukuma-wiki", "terere"), freq=c(7,4,5,8,20)) barplot(as.matrix(DF[,2]), col=heat.colors(length(DF[,2])), legend=DF[,1], xlim=c(0,9), width=2) http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/file/n4635946/Screenshot.png

Automatically placing a legend in an area with the most white space...
At one point I believe I heard of an R package that would automatically find the most empty space in a plot, and then that answer could then be used to intelligently place a legend. I would like to try to apply that R package to the contrived example shown below, so thank you for any hints or tips that can be provided. x = seq(0, 1000, by = 1) y1_vals<-rnorm(1000, mean = 0, sd = 50)

Dot plot - equivalent of MINITAB
hi folks, Bit of a newbie, but I've spent a fair bit of time looking for an answer on this, with no joy. Can anyone help me? Dataset: A single column of values in a csv file (eg. 52, 53, 54, 85, etc) Goal: In Minitab, you have what they call a dot plot. It's a histogram, where a single dot represents a set of identical values (eg. 57, 57, 57 would be one dot). Multiple dots are

Using the legend function inside a bar chart error.bars function
Hello, I am just starting out using R on my Uni course. I have been given a function to work with that adds error bars to a bar chart. I want to add a legend and have been trying to amend the code in the function error.bars (see below) so it automatically places a legend on the chart. It does this, but the legend is sitting over the top of one of my data columns. I need the function to decide

adding color bar to a graph
Hi everybody, I am wondering how i can add a "stretch" color bar / legend to a graph that uses colorBrewer to define the colors in it. I will try to explain my graph, but i also uploaded it at: ftp://ftpext.usgs.gov/pub/er/fl/st.petersburg/Monica_pal/ The file is: robcor_training_pca.pdf - i will also attach this file in case some people accept attachments. So i took apart the

plotting multiple variables in 1 bar graph
I'd greatly appreciate your help in making a bar graph with multiple variables plotted on it. All the help sites I've seen so far only plot 1 variable on the y-axis Data set: I have 6 sites, each measured 5 times over the past year. During each sampling time, I counted the occurrences of different benthic components (coral, dead coral, sand, etc.) over 5 transects in each site site

{Lattice} help.
Hi All, I have a 4-dimensional data. I'm using barchart() function from lattice package. The R code and data are below - code includes one for stack=TRUE and other for stack=FALSE. I would like to present the data in another form which would be plotting Factor3 levels (P, Q, R, S) as two stacked bars (side by side). Like, for each level of Factor1 there should be two bars: first bar showing

Trellis stacked bar legend
Dear R-Listers, (well... called Depayan) The standard example barchart(yield ~ variety | site, data = barley, groups = year, layout = c(1,6), stack = TRUE, auto.key = list(points = FALSE, rectangles = TRUE, space = "right"), ylab = "Barley Yield (bushels/acre)", scales = list(x = list(rot = 45))) shows the problem: legend colors are inverted compared to

lattice legend colors recycling sooner than expected
dear r-helpers, it seems the colors in an automatically generated lattice legend recycle after the 8th color, even when the user has set e.g. superpose.symbol$col to be longer than 8. the following example will illustrate what i mean: z <- data.frame(x=rep(letters[1:15], each=4), y=rnorm(60), groups=rep(LETTERS[1:3], 20)) library(nlme) library(lattice) plot(groupedData(y ~ x |

stacked bar plot
Hello, I'm wondering if someone may be able to help me, and do apologize if there is a simple and obvious solution for this. I am somewhat new to R, and have been searching for a simple solution for a couple of days. I am interested in finding a tool that allows me to plot a stacked bar plot. My data set is in the following format:

Bar Plot Bars "Bleed" off Plotting Area
R Community, I have a stupid little barplot I am trying to construct (Windows XP, R.11.1, 32-bit). Whenever I run it my bars run below the horizontal axis. Can anyone (1) reproduce this and (2) offer a solution? Rather simplistic code follows (I am new to the community)> Thanks for your help! Greg Gilbert =================== CUT HERE ===================

About doing figures
Hi Jim, For true color, I meant that the points in the figure do not correspond to the values from the dataframe. Also, why to use rainbow(9) here? And the legend is straight in the middle, is it possible to reformat it to the very bottom? Thanks again. Legend with fill = gray ?
Hi, I am facing a problem with the legend, I don?t know how to use the fill option in the legend in order to achieve the same standard gray levels that are plotted. Sorry for this easy one, but I really did not find anything so far. It works fine with color: ###### C O L O R mat <- matrix(2,3,rep(2,6)) rownames(mat)<-c("A","B","C") par(xpd=T,

About doing figures
For more than 10 records, how to reformat the colors? Also, how to show the first legend only, but at the bottom, while the second legend in your code is not necessary? In all, the same A values have the same color, but different symbols in DF==1 and DF==2. Thanks for your help.
