Memory allocation problem
Hello, I am runnning a program on R with a "big" number of simulations and
I am getting the following error:
Error: no se puede ubicar un vector de tamaƱo 443.3 Mb
I don't understand why because when I check the memory status in my pc I get
the following:
> memory.size()
[1] 676.3
> memory.size(T)
[1] 1124.69
> memory.limit()
[1] 4000
which should in theory allow to

A logit question?
Hello dear r-gurus!
I have a question about the logit-model. I think I have misunderstood
something and I'm trying to find a bug from my code or even better from my
head. Any help is appreciated.
The question is shortly: why I'm not having same coefficients from the
logit-regression when using a link-function and an explicite transformation
of the dependent. Below some details.
I'm

fitting models with gnls
Dear R-list members,
Some months ago I wrote a message on the usage of gnls (nlme library) and here I come again.
Let me give an example:
I have a 10 year length-at-age data set of 10 fishes (see growth.dat at the end of this message) and I want to fit a von Bertalanffy growth model, Li= Linf*(1-exp(-k*(ti-t0))) where Li = length at age i, Linf= asymptotic length, k= curvature parameter, ti=

Help on how to use predict
Dear R-Users
My problem is quite simple: I need to use a fitted model to predict the next
point (that is, just one single point in a curve).
The data was divided in two parts: identification (x and y - class matrix)
and validation (xt and yt - class matrix). I don't use all values in x and
y but only the 10 nearest points (x[b,] and y[b,]) for each regression (b is
a vector with the

I loaded a drawing with plenty of layers and then clicked on the layer drop down menu a couple of times before exiting ProgeCAD.

Estimating IRT models by using nlme() function
Hi,
I have a question about estimating IRT models by using nlme, not just rasch
model, but also other models.

Model file from ranking using Xapian::Letor
Hello,
I have attached a model file which can be used to rank new queries.
Disclaimer: I don't remember if its is the updated one or the one with
which I evaluated the API before. But it should work with your new queries
with libsvm based letor module.

Tukey's HSD
Greetings,
I am trying the get the standard errors of multiple comparisons using
Tukey's HSD. These are not reported by the function TukeyHSD. When I apply
the following code to the data, which I store as PROLE4.TXT, several
unexpected things happen. First, the function TukeyHSD works for all the
comparisons but the function simint doesn't. Second, after the application
of na.omit
