In my attempts to get Fractal Mapper (http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iAppId=3117) to work I am a bit confused about the behaviour of text and fonts. The application's documentation says you should be able to use any TrueType fonts. I see a menu with the fonts I have on the system. If I select one of them and enter some text I see the text as I enter it, but when I finish it disappears.

I'm doing some analyses of historical data from France in 1830 on 'moral statistics' that I'd like to show on a map. I've done most of my analyses in SAS, but a few things would work better in R. Hi I rsync from 4 machines to a single destination one, and I am certain the filenames they sync do not overlap. But from time to time rsync from a source machine gets stuck (not always the same source machine).
