[patch] sftp-server basepath [yet another]
Hi,
I made this simple path to make sftp-server restricted to a basepath!
This was done because use sshfs [wich base is sftp-server] to allow people
access medias [ cdrom, dvdrom, floppy, usb] from x-terms.
Those x-terms [ diskless] does not have all users, so we share a single user
and a DSA empty passphrase, with some acl scipts at .ssh/authorized keys.
Main usage of this patch is to NOT

dynamically generating a controller and appropriate routing
I''m working on a library similar to acts_as_taggable. I''d like it to be a
simple, one file drop-in: i.e., put my_library.rb into RAILSROOT/lib/ and
have everything work. However, the library requires a controller to render
some stuff, so I need to be able to create the controller class, set the
routing, and extend the controller at run-time from within my_library.rb.
I have code

R --gui=GNOME problem
I've installed GNU R statistical comupting language and environment 2.2.1-2 by Synaptic (on Ubunti Linux 6.06 Dapper Drake). I've installed also r-gnome to have a GUI. I can't start my GUI. Why R --gui=GNOME don't start? It cannot find rgnome. R --gui=tk command instead is good. What's the best GUI for R?
How can I start my GUI?
Thanks

Error in update() when repositories is specified.
How can I specify the repositories for upgrade()?
> x <- packageStatus(repositories =
"http://cran.us.r-project.org//bin/windows/contrib/2.0")
> upgrade(x, ask = FALSE)
Error in update[, 3] : incorrect number of dimensions
x, the object of class "packageStatus", prints and summarizes fine. I also
ran install.packages() without incident.

the field ttl in struct referral doesn't work
In samba source code, the file "source\include\msdfs.h" defines a struct named referral. In this struct, there is a field named ttl which is used to decide how long should client cache referral, and this field uses constant REFERRAL_TTL(#define REFERRAL_TTL 600) as default. My problem is when i set REFERRAL_TTL to be 10, it doesn't work.

How many R packages?
Hi All,
I searched around to find the number of R packages currently available,
but didn't find anything, so I choose all repositories & told it to
install. The list contained about 2,856 (correcting roughly for those
installed). But the list includes repetitions such as 19 names that
begin with "bvbovine".
Selecting only CRAN and CRAN(extras) I get 1,344.
Is there an easier

Trivial typo in sample help file
Hi,
just found a small typo in help(sample). In 'Arguments' section, where
says
n: a non-negaiive integer, the number of items to choose from.
should be
n: a non-negative integer, the number of items to choose from.
I didn't filled a bug report because this is very trivial.
Thanks,

The web-server mount the data from the samba-server by nfs. there are developers that create and edit the data on the samba-server, but the Apache and Symfony create and edit data too,

About sftp-server root path
Hi,
I saw in archive that some people made a patch to sftp-server, and that patch
sets a root path.
I'd like to know if there's an ideia to apply that patch in main tree of
openssh?
With the use of SSHFS [wich uses sftp-server], it would be interesting to
have someting like that, because as we have netboot workstations, the access
to devices [such as, floppy, cdrom and usb data] are

Non-visible functions are asterisked
Dear R-Helpers,
I suspect I'm about to ask a FAQ, but I haven't been able to find an
answer in the FAQ, AItR or an R Site Search. When I look at the methods
of summary (below) it says, "Non-visible functions are asterisked". I
looked at the help file for summary.princomp, which did not comment on
it being non-visible. I ran its help file example, which printed visible
output. I

Advice about system for installing & updating all R package in a Linux Lab?
Good day:
I'm administering 6 linux systems (FC4) in a student lab and worry that
users may want packages that are not installed. I get tired of adding
them one by one. Then I happened upon this page
http://support.stat.ucla.edu/view.php?supportid=30
about installing all R packages from CRAN. That did not run as it was,
but after some fiddling I arrived at the following script, which
