fixtures not loading when running rake test - ok other times
Hallo -- I have the most bizzare problem. I have a test called PropertyTest that runs absolutely fine. Even if I totally clear the test database before running it, it happily scoots off, loads all necessary fixtures, runs & passes all tests. My problem arises when I run rake test:units. Then, all other tests pass fine, but this one starts failing as if the fixture data simply

Fixtures just Do Not Work for Me
Hello, I have been struggling to get fixtures to work here with no success. They just Do Not Work For Me (tm). I have created a model named Headline with the `generate'' script and modified the test/fixtumes/headlines.yml as follows ---------- gita: id: 1 author: raulseixas title: gita happened_at: 2005-01-01 00:00:00 description: gita This is the CD reissue of

Including ALL fixtures for a test
I am running into some issues with my functional tests because they need info from almost every single table in the database. I have long laundry lists of fixture names to include on these test files and then I have to troubleshooot bizarre test failures because of a fixture that was not included. So is there a way to simply include all fixtures in a test? Something like: fixtures :all

Fixtures vs Fixture class, what is the intended purpose?
Hello, i am trying to fix the code for fixtures in rails because it is buggy and internal variable names are confusing, could somebody please explain to me what is the intended purpose of Fixture and Fixtures classes respectively? For example, why do we need both `Fixtures.initialize`and `Fixture.initialize`? They both "initialize" a single fixture, and in fact `Fixture.initialize`

Mutually exclusive Exim setup instructions
The correct way has to be one or the other: http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Exim are mutually exclusive with http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/DebianStable It appears that exim can either call dovecot's LDA or make the delivery itself. There may be good reasons to do it one way or the other. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Karl Schmidt

[OT] correspondence analysis w/ non-mutually-exclusive ca tegories
Andy, Take a look at Greenacre, Theory and Applications of Correspondence Analysis. He has many example of dealing with all sorts of data. Basically, the technique is relevant for 2-way tables -- MCA is an extenstion. It is not clear in your example whether CA is really appropriate -- you want to make an observation (if at all possible) fall in one cell, treating the others layers as

Are form_remote_tag and submit_to_remote mutually exclusive?
Do I need to use submit_to_remote in conjunction with or instead of form_remote_tag? The description in the API docs. is confusing. Is the combination of form_tag/submit_to_remote valid? Is the combination of from_remote_tag/submit_tag valid? Thanks, Wes -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Are folder redirection and offline files mutually exclusive?
Been tearing my hair out trying to find out if redirecting my user's automounted home folder is killing offline files availability. We are just now migrating our windows users to win7 (school, limited funding), and while I've got folder redirection working, I also need to make sure offline files work as well for my mobile users. What smb.conf settings are required that will fix this

--files-from and --delete mutually exclusive?
Hi rsync developers, I'm trying to get some fancy mirroring done with selecting files from a larger archive through the --files-from option. The only problem that I do see is that rsync will not eat the --delete option whatever I try. Thus, all the old files remain in the mirror archive instead of being deleted. To be more clearly, I want the rsync --files-from option to behave like

[OT] correspondence analysis w/ non-mutually-exclusive categories
Greetings, again. This is not strictly an R question, so please feel free to ignore it if you like. My question is about the substance of correspondence analysis. Specifically, is it appropriate to use ca on a matrix of values such that the columns and/or rows are not mutually exclusive? To be more detailed: - The standard use of ca is illustrated in the example of corresp() (from MASS):

Test fixture syntax
OK, I know I''m doing something bone-headed, but I can''t for the life of me figure it out. I''ve read the test fixtures Rdoc about eight dozen times, and it says (to me) that if I have a YAML fixture file, dogs.yml that looks like this: fido: id: 1 breed: Terrier fifi: id: 2 breed: Poodle Then I can include fixtures :dogs in my functional test, and

load fixtures
I''m finally getting beyond using basic test fixtures, and a few questions have popped up. Has anyone found ways to do these? 1. Use a test fixture that is named differently from its table name? We''d like to have more than one possible fixture per table. (Or perhaps use test fixtures named similarly but in different directories.) 2. Load a test fixture for one test method only

after_create callback called twice in test env when using fixtures
All, I''ve been trying to figure out a strange bug in one of my applications that I think I''ve narrowed down to a problem with rails fixtures. It seems as though the after_create callback is being run twice when I save a record. This is only happening a) in the test environment, and b) when there is a fixture file for that table. The test below only prints "Doing

Putting fixtures into subdirectories
I want to organize my fixtures just like the namespace of my models. So for example if I have a model Company::Employee I''d like the fixture to be in fixtures/company/employees.yml. However, I can''t figure out how to specify the path of the fixture file. If I do: fixtures :employees in my unit test it can''t find the fixture file. Any suggestions? Thanks, Todd

binary info in test fixtures?
Hi all, I have a shopping application I am testing, and one of the models is an Order model, within which a credit card number is encrypted and stored in the db (mysql) as a BLOB field. When trying to run my unit tests, I cannot get my model fixtures to load the encrypted data. If, in my dynamic fixture (YAML) file, I could have access to my app''s models, the problem would be trivial..

rspec fixtures stay in the test db - is this right?
I have some fixtures set up to put a few records in some of my tables. In some of my rspec describe blocks, i''m *not* calling the fixtures, and expecting the tables to be empty. But they''re not - the fixture data is in there. Am i using fixtures wrongly? I thought that the db was wiped at the start of every test and the fixtures were only added if asked for. Is that not the

Using a lib in YAML fixtures
I''m using the runt library [1] to do some temporal expression matching. I want to keep the expression in a binary field in my db. I figured that then in order to do the fixtures, I''d need to do some erb in the yaml file. So I came up with this: onetime: id: 1 name: One Time description: This event occurs only one time. timex: <%= REYear.new(7) & REMonth.new(24)

loading fixtures into oracle
Any idea why this fixture would fail to load any data? <% %w( Admin Pharmacist PI/Co-PI Research\ Nurse ).each { |g| Group.create( :name => g ) } %> It works perfectly in irb but when I do rake db:fixtures:load I get no data, no errors, and no error logs. I realize my fixture doesn''t look like your typical run-of-the-mill fixture but it''s that way because I''m

Fixtures Max Size? SystemStackError: stack level too deep
Hello, I have a table of zipcodes that I am using in my application, so there are approximately 50,000 rows in this table. I have dumped the table to a fixture yaml file to represent this data, but when I try to load it, I get this error: SystemStackError: stack level too deep Is there a max size allowed for a fixture file..? Here is the --trace output: rake db:fixtures:load --trace **
