Os X and Win clients to SMB 3.0.10 server - how to hide ._ files from win clients only
Hello group,
I am working on a test installation of Samba 3.0.10 on FreeBSD 5.3 as potential
solution to some of our current file server problems. One of the main ones
being good 'ole Win2000 Services for Macintosh - which we would like to dump
completely.
Here's the situation. We have a handful of Mac machines, all recently taken to
10.3.7 (10.3.8 upgrade is pending) which currently

projecting GIS coordinates for analysis with spatstat package
I am working on creating an R package for doing fire department analysis and
am trying to create a function that can display emergency incident
densities. The following code sort of does the trick, but I need a display
that shows the number of incidents per square mile. I believe the code
below shows incidents per square unit (in this case, degrees lat/long).
To solve this problem, I believe

Plot qnorm
Hi,
I have this problem:
X is hazardous variable N(mean 2, sd=3)
>>question 1) Find the c value, so that P(X>c)=0.10. using R

you do in question number 1.
I just found question number one but not the second one. So, I'd like to
make a plot form this distribution N (2,3) using the functions plot and

ISE review of I-D: deprecate command VER?
I received the following comment from the Independent Submissions Editor (ISE):
The command VER is hazardous because it encourages exploiting of
implementation peculiarities that are not well documented in a
protocol.? The best example of such a failure is the browser version
field in HTTP.? A complete disaster.? You should warn against use of
this command, or even better, deprecate it.

Mounting a Samba Share in /etc/fstab
Hey all,
As most of you know, I've been having problems (hopefully solved by now, won't know until friend is
able to reshare his box) with SAMBA over the internet.
On my local area network, I am using SAMBA for a one way connection just fine. my question is as
follows.
Can I make an fstab entry so I can mount the XP share whenever I boot? The reason I ask is because

Internet Explorer 5.5 with Wine?
I'm extremely new to Wine, I don't even have a confog file yet. I can't find
any decent documentation at wineHQ.com. Can anyone explain that whole thing
to me?
Also, I hate Mozilla, Netscape, and Opera. I want to get IE 5.5 working with
Wine. I have tried getting to the Internet explorer Directory in the
Terminal, and then using "wine iexplore.exe -dll

Concurrent dovecot instances on same spool?
Hi all,
While reading the "Multiple locations, 2 servers - planning questions..."
thread, it just hit me that I was planning to do something that seems to
be a bit hazardous...
I am setting up an high-availability server set, which consists of two (or
more) servers with common disk space, all set behind redundant hardware
load balancers. At first, there will be two servers and disk

Released Pigeonhole v0.3.0 for Dovecot v2.1.0
Hello Dovecot users,
Now that Dovecot v2.1.0 is out there, I release Pigeonhole v0.3.0. The
most significant new features are support for the Sieve editheader
extension and the sieve-filter tool. I haven't received much feedback on
these new features, which can either mean that they are mostly bug-free
or that not many people have tried these, so these are still considered
experimental.
