Low level algorithm conrol in Fisher's exact test
Hi folks,
Forgive me if this question is a trivial issue.
I was doing a series of Fishers' exact test using the fisher.test
function in stats package.
Since the counts I have were quite large (c(64, 3070, 2868, 4961135)), R
suggested me to use
*other algorithms* for the test which can be specified through the

GUIs (for teaching)
Sorry for entering late in the thread, but I was absent last week.
I am developping an alternate GUI for R (and also Splus, Octave, Scilab,
Matlab, Ox & Mathematica). The project started 3 years ago, but it is
progressing slowly, since I am currently the only developer on the project
and had to do it during my extra time. Now, it is going a little faster

Good news on WxWidgets 2.8.0
Hi
Just tried out the most recent dev release (2.7.1) of WxWidgets.
The first bit of good news is that 2.7.1 has lots of attractive new
widgets, such as RichTextCtrl, pickers, and the AUI. This is an add-on
that''s now been merged into the core, and provides sophisticated things
like dockable toolbars, perspective layouts, semi-transparent dragging

Windows forms application
Hey guys, I have a need to run a tool that has been developed by the company I work for in OSX, the application is a small windows form based app that basically reads XML files and calls other programs.
All that works fine, apart from a toolbar is missing (I've been told it was a dockable-toolbar if that helps) also, clicking the options button from the menu should bring up another form, and

Using Classes in Rails

Institute a general unified open source solution for R integration. This
work is now available via this link:

SciViews-R_0.8-9 Console problem
Dear R users,
I successfully installed SciViews the other day. However, when I try to
run it now, the command/script window does not appear. Strange. Well,
actually I see a tendency to a script window (in the lower part of the
sciview window where it is suppose to be) during start up, but when the
program is entirely open, the script window is gone.

R GUI considerations (was: R, Wine, and multi-threadedness)
Hello,
Following a discussion initiated on r-devel, that mentions SciViews-R
and other GUIs issues for R, I would like to make comments (and would be
happy if these comments would initiate interesting initiatives).
A big, big problem with SciViews-R is that a part of it is written in
Visual Basic 6, a M$$$$ language, not supported any more, buggy, non
transposable to other platforms, etc,

Lazy loading... advices
Hello,
I am looking for more information about lazy loading introduced in R 2.0.0.
Doing
?lazyLoad
I got some and there is a 'see also' section that points to
'makeLazyLoading'... But I cannot reach this page.
My problem is: I recompiled a library that uses a lot of functions from
other libraries (of course I can give details if needed). I load it in my

sciviews installation
Hello
1. a few months ago, I had sciviews working fine with R (rw2001) under
windows XP
2. now, upgrading to rw2011, the stuff seems fine (every package
installed),but I find a conflict when launching sciviews:
- it runs, apparently
- but when I try to work ("import/export In: text" for instance), it
asks for Rcmdr ("Would you like to install it now?")

Hello,
I do not understand the following behaviour. Could someone explain me what
happens?

Error: more elements supplied than there are to replace
Why do I get an error message using list[["item"]], and not using list$item?
