Problem installing rgdal on Mac OS X
Please forgive me for posting this here if it is not appropriate (where
should this question be posed?)?
I am attempting to install rgdal (from source, since there is no binary)
on Mac OS X 10.4.9 on a PowerPC G3 Macintosh. I have R version 2.4.1
(2006-12-18) installed. Following the install directions suggested at:

How to resolve include Rcpp.h problems?
Hi,
I am Linux Ubuntu 9.04 user. I'm using R-2.6.
Actually, I am developing R package for reading/writing 3D images. I needed
to use the R package Rcpp in order to make profit of available C/C++ codes.
My problem is that my C code is not able to include the Rcpp.h
In fact, when I run this command R CMD build rply, I got the following error

R CMD SHLIB error using OS X
Hello,
I'm using R 2.5.0 with OS X 10.4.9 and Xcode 2.4.1 on a PowerPC. My
code used to compile fine with R 2.4.* and Xcode 2.2 (I think).
I'm compiling some C code (named mhroc_prop.c) that calls a fortran

[LLVMdev] does new EH require newer linker?
Is the new EH scheme completely compatible with the existing linker in Xcode 4.1?
I am finding that today's changes break the ability to link xplor-nih with dragonegg

Fwd: makeconf issue on R-devel 2006-03-12 r37524
I sent the message below to r-sig-mac yesterday, but having no reply
I decided to explore a bit myself and found that editing:
/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Versions/2.3/Resources/share/make/
shlib.mk
yzzy: diff shlib.mk shlib.mk~
3c3
< include $(R_HOME)/etc/Makeconf
---
> include $(R_HOME)/etc${R_ARCH}/Makeconf
restored the functionality of R CMD INSTALL.
Is this a known issue?

Ld64.lld cannot find Foundation framework
Dear LLVM community I need some help please.
I want to use LLVM's clang and lld within a MacOSX sandboxed app. This is because sandboxing does not allow calls to /usr/bin/clang.
The clang binary works fine to compile a file, but ld64.lld comes up with the error "cannot find framework".
However similar arguments using /usr/bin/ld instead of ld64.lld works fine.
Here are the

I created an add-on R package. In this package, there is a line

package is successfully built and can be successful installed. But R CMD

Problems with loading arm
Hello,
I recently updated to R 2.10 on my 64 bit Dell Precision T7400 running
Enterprise Linux and now I can't get the arm library to load when I run
R using Wine. Prior to the update I was able to use arm without any
trouble. My main goal is to use arm with WinBUGS on this machine,
calling it from R for Windows, which is executed with wine. After the
update, when I try to load the arm

Ld64.lld cannot find Foundation framework
Thanks for your reply. Two questions:
1). Will ld64.lld be fixed in LLVM v11.0 and when is this likely to be?
2). You mention Apple’s linker, by which I assume you mean GNU’s ld.
Is it possible to get a binary version of ld (preferably that does not use other things from /usr/bin)?
Thanks

Suppose we have files in one folder file1.bin, file2.bin, ... , and
1460slice(file) with dim of 720 * 360 in directory C:\\PHD\\Climate
Data\\Wind\\ and we want to read them and make a loop to go from 1 to 4
and take the average, then from 4 to 8 and so on till 1460. in the end we
will get 365 files . I need those 365 files to be in one new folder for
later use in my model

LLD/Mach-O - how to work around this bug?
I filed this bug today: https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32376
I understand that the Mach-O linker is not under active development, but
there must be some way to work around this bug. Does anyone have a clue?
This trivial IR file gives "dyld: lazy symbol binding failed: bad lazy bind
info" at runtime when linked with:

[LLVMdev] LTO v. opt
Hi,
I am new to the LLVM dev community so forgive a perhaps obvious question. I am looking at bug 17623 which is an LTO/optimizer interaction bug. I am working on a Mac with Xcode installed but have also built the 3.6 LLVM binaries (from a few month old local branch).
The default version of “ld” from Apple supports an option “-save-temps” which I believe saves bitcode both before and after the

[LLVMdev] Mach-O LTO and local relocations
This is probably a problem with having too many sections. There are a few places where mach-o has a limit on the number of sections. For instance the n_sect field of the nlist record is one byte. So any symbol in a section past the 255th section wraps around and shows up with the wrong n_sect number.
