ANOVA with repeated measurements (Dan Rajdl)
Dear R-users, I have some human serum lipid concentrations (cholesterol, apoB ...), each lipid was measured (in the same person) for 6 times in different time points (start, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, 24 months). There were 2 groups of participants: one with a nutritional intervention and the other without it. I would like to know, whether lipid concentrations differ among different

[PATCH] Introducing Zero-Knowledge user authentication
Hello! With this email we release an extension to OpenSSH that was initially developed as project for our studies at the Univerity of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg. First we would like to describe the purpose of using Zero-Knowledge (ZK) for user authentication. Traditional authentication methods like challenge-response with passwords or public keys leak information about the credentials of

[LLVMdev] Excessive register spilling in large automatically generated functions, such as is found in FFTW
Hi, I've noticed that LLVM tends to generate suboptimal code and spill an excessive amount of registers in large functions, such as in those that are automatically generated by FFTW. LLVM generates good code for a function that computes an 8-point complex FFT, but from 16-point upwards, icc or gcc generates much better code. Here is an example of a sequence of instructions from a 32-point

memory.size help
I keep getting the 'memory.size' error message when I run a program I have been writing. It always it cannot allocate a vector of a certain size. I believe the error comes in the code fragement below where I have multiple arrays that could be taking up space. Does anyone know a good way around this? w1 <- outer(xk$xk1, data[,x1], function(y,z) abs(z-y)) w2 <- outer(xk$xk2,

Penalised spline regression
Good Afternoon Everyone, I am looking for advice fitting a linear mixed model where the random components do not seem to fit within the model formulae for lmer. The columns of Z are not stratified and have the notional random formula (z1 | 1) + ... + (zk | 1). Context I am fitting a penalised thin plate spline with knots k1 to kn. The basis functions Zk are |x-ki|^3 and the penalty matrix has

Problem with decoding number of codebooks
Hello, I'm trying to write a Vorbis decoder (just as a hobby) but I've got a problem with reading the setup header. According to the Vorbis documentation the first data that should be read after the initial 'vorbis' string is an eight bit integer which when incremented by one, contains the number of codebooks in the header. My problem is that whenever I read this number it seems

Help with ca.jo and cajools (Johansen's Cointegration)
I am trying to run a conintegration analysis. I am a former user of S-Plus and understand the output of the coint and VECM output, but I am having trouble understanding the equivalent output in R. Here is what I ran > coint=ca.jo(data,constant=T,K=2,spec="longrun") > summary(coint) The first portion of the output that I did not understand [,1] [,2] [,3] y1

a faster and shorter way to perform calculations?
This is a continuation from a previous posting of mine: The following algorithm below is what I want to accomplish: Z(xk) = Average(Yi, i belongs to Ik), where Ik contains all i such that for each j, |Xi,j - xkj?? 2. Here, j = 1, 2 and i corresponds to the elements in each X and/or xk >data x1 x2 y 1 1 2 2 2 6 3 3 12 Now, consider a second data frame or matrix (xk):

indexing into and modifying dendrograms
I would like to be able to exert certain types of control over the plotting of dendrograms (representing hierarchical clusterings) that I think is best achieved by modifying the dendrogram object prior to plotting. I am using the "dendrogram" class and associated methods. Define the cluster number of each cluster formed as the corresponding row of the merge object. So, if you are

Random Seed Location
Thank you, everybody, who replied! I appreciate your valuable advise! I will move the location of the set.seed() command to after all packages have been installed and loaded. Apache mod_cache/mod_disk_cache...?
Is anybody using mod_cache/mod_disk_cache with Puppet? I found a post talking about it here (http://paperairoplane.net/?p=380) and I tried to implement it .. but I found that nothing was being cached. Near as I can tell, Apache refuses to cache any URL that has a query-string attached to it: (http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/caching.html) > • If the URL included a query string (e.g. from a

ipfw logging
Hi all! After installing 5.3 I've noticed some change in firewall logging. Prior (on 5.2) rules gave me what I needed: trimed to 3 of the same connection. Every new connection on the same rule gave new log line up to 3. I have in kernel: FIREWALL FIREWALL_VERBOSE FIREWALL_VERBOSE_LIMIT=3 Now, all connections on the same rule are trimed to 3. Is it possib- le on 5.3 to have all

Why don't you let something in and something out? I.e.: add 10000 allow icmp from any to any icmptypes 8 out add 10100 allow icmp from any to any icmptypes 0 in add 10200 allow icmp from any to any

about nmap
Dear all! Last evening I've noticed that my 5.2 box had strange result about nmap search. One port is randomly open when I look from user account. From root everything looks as expected. The comp is most time out of internet. The last thing was adding "expect" package. I am not paniced, could be hiting... Or something in "expect" package... It is random port from 53000 to

possible compromise?
Dear Peter! I think it's time to reinstall now. Not at the end of week. If you have any doubt, don't spend more time to check logs. Some measures could be taken to clear it to look fine. Yes. You spent more time to check logs than you will to reinstall. Write on your conf files and all will be as you wish for 30-60 minutes. ZK

Asterisk 1.8.3 BLF stopped working
I am running 1.8.3 and my BLF lights have stopped working. The hints appear to be intact when I use core show hints. But none of the phones are getting the BLF updates. This has happend in the past and I have had to restart my server. What could be causing this to occur. It did not do this with the 1.6.x builds. Is there a way to reload the hints or force a refresh without re-starting

Call Parking and billing seconds
It appears that each time a call is parked that the CDR billing seconds are lost and they start again when the parked call is picked back up. The call duration is correct.
