barplot x-axis problem
Hi R-users,
I'm new to R and I'm trying to make a barplot combined with two lines
(refering to secondary y-axis). Bars should represent the number of
transfused patients by age class and sex and lines should represent
the amount of blood units given in age classes. I have now successfully made
a barplot and used par(new=TRUE) to plot another empty graph at the top of
the barplot.

Problem with shortestPath in igraph and qgraph
hello,
I have a graph and i use qgraph package to calculate centrality parameters.
Now I want to know the maximum value of shortest path for each vertex with
discarding the Inf value in short pathes. For this I use the
ShortestPathLengths of centrality function in qgraph. but when I want to
get the maximum the result is wrong. here is my code:

Hard to follow data analysis without data. Try making your example reproducible [1][2][3] and post in plain text (a setting in your emailer). Read the Posting Guide mentioned in the footer to avoid other posting pitfalls.

Hi,
This may be due to several reasons. That I can think about:
1) Ensure you close *all* possibly open workbooks:
nBooks <- xl[["Workbooks"]]$Count();
for (i in seq_len(nBooks))
xl[["Workbooks"]]$item(i)$Close(SaveChanges=FALSE);
2) The excel application reference does not seem to be really released until the garbage collector runs. So this may help:
xl$Quit();

I've just commited a patch to llvm-gcc 4.2, which moves openmp lowering
stuff to be run little bit earlier, so llvm-convert will catch its
result. It looks now gcc atomic & sync builtins should be introduced to
llvm as a remaining ingredient.
Example program from Diego's paper now compiles to:

Clipping using par(plt=..., xpd=FALSE) inconsistencies
Here is a demonstration of behaviour that is probably an optimization by
someone far smarter than me that did not anticipate anyone wanting to do

how to skip a specific value when using apply() function to a matrix?
Hello R experts,
I'd like to studentize a matrix (tmp1) by column using apply() function and skip some specific values such as zeros in the example below to tmp2 but not tmp3. I used the script below and only can get a matrix tmp3. Could you please help me to studentize the matrix (tmp1) without changing the zeros and generate a new matrix tmp2?

How come the k is 3 in all of this output?
I expected it to be equal to r.

Thanks for the answer, it clarifies the situation for me. Do you know if there is Pass in LLVM that could be adapted to 'legalize' intrinsics calls ?
Or shall I define my own intrinsics for non supported types ?

Wrong UIDs are returned from mailbox_transaction_commit_get_uids() in dovecot-1.1.rc3.
The problem is in:

An iterative function
Dear all,
The function f() below is a function of m1 and m2, both of which are
matrices with 3 rows. The function works sequentially one row after
another.
So altogether there are three stages. I am trying to update the coding to
write a generic function that will work for arbitrary k stages.
I am hoping to get some suggestion and help. Thanks so much!

[LLVMdev] llvm-gcc cannot emit @llvm.pow.* ?
Hi,
Current llvm-gcc cannot emit llvm intrinsic function like llvm.pow.* and
llvm.sin.*
For example:
double foo(double x, double y) {
return pow(x,y);
}
will compiled into ll:
define double @foo(double %x, double %y) {
%tmp3 = tail call double @pow( double %x, double %y )
ret double %tmp3
}
This is not consistent with llvm language reference.
