getMethod(s) and var.test
Hi, How do I retrieve the var.test() function code? I had a similar problem once before with another function but getMethods() solved the problem then. Now I tried several combinations for var.test() without success. Fit model to data and use model for data generation
Hi, Suppose I have a set of values x and I want to calculate the distribution of the data. Ususally I would use the "density" command. Now, can I use the resulting "density-object" model to generate a number of new values which have the same distribution? Or do I have to use some different function? Diffrerence in "%in%" function to boundry setting via <>
Hi, There is a point which is irritating me currently quite a bit and that is an aspect of different behaviour between the %in% function and the smaller/bigger than signs (<>). Here is are two examples to demonstrate what I mean: Example1: > c(1,1,2,2,3,4,4,6,7) %in% c(1,2,3) [1] TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE FALSE FALSE FALSE FALSE Right, that is what I expect. Example2: > ps

machine authentication at Active Directory
On a 802.1X environment, it's possible to permit a windows desktop gain access to the network by using only machine authentication at the Active Directory (no need for login + password). Is it possible to do the same with a Linux desktop with samba? I mean a Linux desktop pass machine credentials to Active Directory as windows do (SID), without any login and password. -- Otto Fuchshuber

Barplots: Editing the frequency x-axis names
Hi I have a timeSeries object (X) with monthly returns. I want to display the returns with a barplot, which I can fix easily. But my problem is labaling the x-axis, if I use the positions from the timeseries It gets very messy. I have tried rotating and changing the font size but it doesn't do the trick. I think the optimal solution for my purpose is too only display every second or third
