Importar datos Statgraphics.

Question regarding panel data diagnostic
Good day R-listers,
I'm currently working on a panel data analysis (N=17, T=5), in order
to check for the spurious regression problem, i have to ?test for
stationarity but i've read somewhere ?that i needn't to test for it as
?my T<10 , what do you think? if yes ?is there any other test ?i have
to ?perform in such case (a kind of cointegration test for small T?)
Any hint would be

cluster option in stata for random intercept model in the R language?
Dear R-list,
I am currently working on a dataset with a colleague who uses stata.
We fit a random intercept model to the data (decisions clustered in participants) and get closely the same results in stata (using xtreg re) and R (using the lme4 or multilevel package).
Now in stata, there is an additional option for the regression to control for clustering; the vce(cluster clustvar) option,

Slightly OT - use of R
I am trying to get a measure of how R compares in usage as a statistical
platform compared to other software. I would guess it is the most widely
used among statisticians at least by virtue of it being open source.
But is there any study to which I can refer? By asking this list I am not
exactly adopting a rigorous approach!
Best wishes

Use of R in clinical trials
Dear all,
There have been a variety of discussions on the R list regarding the use of R in clinical trials. The following post from the STATA list provides an interesting opinion regarding why SAS remains so popular in this arena: http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2008-01/msg00098.html

Question of "Quantile Regression for Longitudinal Data"
Hi,
I am trying to estimate a quantile regression using panel data. I am trying
to use the model that is described in Dr. Koenker's article. So I use the
code the that is posted in the following link:

Sweave, R and complex latex projects
Hello all,
I've been able to use R very successfully to run simple statistics and
generate the plots I require.
I've been evaluating Sweave, and have hit upon a small problem that I
don't seem to be able to workaround. Sweave runs very well for single
file latex documents, but I have a complex thesis made up of several
parts and chapters. These are arranged with a master latex file

Creating a "simple" Radar/Spider Plot from Statgraphics
I'm new to R - and trying to create a plot similiar to the spider plot at
http://www.statgraphics.com/eda.htm#radar .
I can't figure out several things... most of which I would think would be
straightforward....
How can I change the lines for each series plotted instead of creating a
filled area?
How can I get the labels for each of the radial axes at the outside of the
plot

maximum likelihood accuracy - comparison with Stata
Hi everyone,
I am looking to do some manual maximum likelihood estimation in R. I
have done a lot of work in Stata and so I have been using output
comparisons to get a handle on what is happening.
I estimated a simple linear model in R with lm() and also my own
maximum likelihood program. I then compared the output with Stata.
Two things jumped out at me.
Firstly, in Stata my coefficient

clogit comparison between Stata and R
Hello all
I'm moving back and forth between stata and R at the moment - of course,
using R whenever possible :-)
I'm running conditional logits on some panel data and I get slightly
different results and different N in the two programs.
In R I run
clogit(trans.dem ~ I(avg.gle_rgdp.500/gle_rgdp) + log(gle_rgdp) +
timesince.dem + I(timesince.dem^2) + timesince.dict + I(timesince.dict^2) +

Nonlinear Regression
I'm wondering what packages exist to implement nonlinear least squares
regression in R other than 'nls'. Are there packages which implement
methods to estimate the optimum values of the parameters which do not
use the Gauss-Newton algorithm e.g. use Nelder Mead. In particular,
I'd be interested where this is done where the methods of the plinear
algorithm are also used (the initial

Comparison of R with proprietary software
Hi All:
Recently, I got a query how R compared cost-wise (cost of purchase, maintenance, and training manuals) with other proprietary statistical software programs (or programming environments). The request, verbatim:

Updated comparison table for SAS-SPSS Add-ons and R Functions
Hi All,
I have substantially expanded the table that compares SAS and SPSS
add-on modules to somewhat equivalent R packages. This new version is
at:
http://r4stats.com/add-on-modules
and I would very much appreciate any feedback you might have on it.
The site http://r4stats.com is the replacement to
http://RforSASandSPSSusers.com and includes the support files for both

how hierarchical is HTB?
Hi there!
I''ve using HTB for a while and now I an faced with a ''problem''.
How hierarchical is HTB?
Let''s say I have this 3 layer HTB setup:
root class 1: (rate=100, ceil=100)
1: children classes 1:10 (30,100) and 1:20 (70,100)
1:10 children classes 1:100 (10,100) and 1:101 (20,100)
1:20 children classes 1:200 (30,100) and 1:201 (70,100)

IAX2 - providers discontinuing support
What is wrong with IAX2 protocol?
If IAX2 is so much better than SIP so why providers discontinuing support for IAX2
I was with provider "callwithus" but they discontinue IAX2
I switched to "checkbox.cc" but they discontinued it as well.
What is wrong with IAX2?

Asterisk SIP attacks and sshguard
Hello,
We had been seeing SIP-guessing attacks on our Asterisk server here.
While it wasn't that hard to write a once-a-minute cron job to spank
the lusers, that runs once a minute and creates little spikes in the
usage and I/O graphs, and is slower to respond than I'd really prefer.
I felt that it'd be much cooler to get something more comprehensive
put together. We don't use

Wanted: free DID number and provider feedback
Ok, I see there's alot out there of voip providers.
Curious what to watch out for ? charges and fee's, etc ?
If anyone has feedback as to a GOOD voip provider experience (one that
gave FREE DID) Please share.
Again, I am doing this to learn about asterisk, I'm currently testing
it at home.
thanks,

I?ve checked about a dozen of the mirrors, and see no *.torrent files yet. Any idea how long they?ll take to appear? I ask because we?re building a system today, so if it?s going to be more than
