How to use rfm.test ? (Package MarkedPointProcess)
I would like to compute the MC test (rfm.test) available in the package MarkedPointProcess (for the data BITOEK for example) in order to test the dependence between the marks and their locations. Why the syntax of rfm.test is false here? I have the message : ****************************** ML WARNING! Forbidden values! -- if there are too many warnings try narrower lower and upper bounds for the

How to define proper breaks in RFM analysis
hello, I'm confused what you guys are talking about. i just want to set ideal threshold values for my RFM scores which can be done using Quantiles but i don't want to use quantiles because my data is not normally distributed so it will lead to wrong ranges of breaks. to fix this problem I'm looking for an approach which can define the ideal range to breaks to categorize RFM scores into

faster base::sequence
Hello, Based on yesterday's R-help thread (help: program efficiency), and following Bill's suggestions, it appeared that sequence: > sequence function (nvec) unlist(lapply(nvec, seq_len)) <environment: namespace:base> could benefit from being written in C to avoid unnecessary memory allocations. I made this version using inline: require( inline ) sequence_c <- local( {

How to define proper breaks in RFM analysis
Hemant's problem is that the indicators are not distributed uniformly. With a uniform distribution, categorization gives a reasonably optimal separation of cases. One approach would be to drop categorization and calculate the overall score as the mean of the standardized indicator scores. Whether this is an option I do not know. I did offer an "eyeball" set of breaks in a previous

Shouldn''t should return true?
''cause it doesn''t... This is an issue for nested custom matchers, ie: module CRFT class RFT def initialize(args) blah end def matches?(target) "Yeah, baby!" end end def r_f_t(args) RFT.new(args) end end module CRLT class RLT include CRFT def initialize(args) blag end def matches?(target)

Efficient way to compute power of a sparse matrix
Dear all, I would like to compute power of a square non symmetric matrix. This is a part of a simulation study. Matrices are quite large (e.g., 900 by 900), and contains many 0 (more than 99 %). I have try the function mtx.exp of the Biodem package: library(Biodem) m <- matrix(0, 900, 900) i <- sample(1:900, 3000, replace = T) j <- sample(1:900, 3000, replace = T) for(x in 1:3000)

Export data
Hi there, I would like to write a data output. In first time, a data frame (called "res") is written in a file *csv such as: A B C # names of data 1.5 4.5 7 # values So I use "write.table" which prints "res" to a file "file.csv" write.table(res,file="file.csv",sep="",row.names=TRUE,col.names=TRUE,eol = "\n")

Hi You expect us to solve your problem but you ignore advice already recieved. Your data are unreadable, use dput(yourdata) instead. see ?dput > test<-read.table("clipboard", heade=T) Error in scan(file = file, what = what, sep = sep, quote = quote, dec = dec, : line 115 did not have 6 elements What is ?ideal interval? can you define it? All I see mentioned is postgres, mysql, etc I found http://rubyforge.org/projects/rfm/ it requires FileMaker Server Advanced 7.0, But the server advanced is 1400$ for education and I can''t justify the cost right now. My goal is to develop a small

Friendly way to link R - MySQL and non-(R and Mysql) users ?
Thanks to your help, I managed to link R and a Mysql Database, send queries, plot the results and put everything in a pdf document (with Sweave). My co-workers find the job not bad but they would like to have a friendly interface to send queries and see the graphs (the pdf document is not necessary). Something like this coul be a good starting point : --------------------------------------- |

RFM analysis
Hi Hemant, Let's take it one step at a time. Save this code as "qdrfm.R" in your R working directory: It includes the comments I added last time and fixes a bug in the recency scoring. qdrfm<-function(x,rbreaks=3,fbreaks=3,mbreaks=3, date.format="%Y-%m-%d",weights=c(1,1,1),finish=NA) { # if no finish date is specified, use current date if(is.na(finish))
