Resin and RAILS
Anybody use Resin''s (http://www.caucho.com) FastCGI support with Rails? I''m seeing performance very close (almost the same) to what I''m seeing with Lighttpd. Nothing scientific but just a quick test using Apache''s wb and JMeter. (Might be interesting to other Java/Rails folk or Java/PHP/Rails folk. I have no connection to Caucho and the tests were done with

Rails on Tomcat or JBoss?
Hi all, The Rails book talks about running Rails under Apache, but is there a (relatively) easy way to deploy it to either Tomcat or JBoss? Is the CGI servlet the only option? Caucho's resin on x86_64?
I'm trying to install the resin package from www.caucho.com on Centos 4.2/x86_64 with Sun jdk-1_5_0_06-linux-amd64. Everything appears to work during the install but I get: Socket JNI library is not available. Resin will still run but performance will be slower. To compile the Socket JNI library on Unix, use ./configure; make; make install. In the logs when it starts up. Did I miss

Cropped graph using lattice
I'm fitting data from a mixture experiment, and I'd like to present the results in a ternary graph with contours. I found this code by Walmes Zeviani http://n4.nabble.com/Triangular-filled-contour-plot-td1557386.html which is just what I want--except I would like the axis titles and labels to be proportionately larger than the ternary graph itself, for legibility in publication. bogus file times in samba 3.5.4
Hi, I am seeing some very dodgy behavior from samba where the files times displayed to the client seem to have no basis in reality. In the example below The file was created on Oct. 5th but samba is saying the file time was way back on Sep. 30th. [root at tungsten KOSRCFLM]# ls -l 1321-538.dpn -rw-rw-r-- 1 resin resin 387 Oct 5 15:49 1321-538.dpn [root at tungsten KOSRCFLM]# stat 1321-538.dpn

Triangular filled contour plot
Hi all, I am working on a filled contour plot which shows a triangular matrix data set (as shown below). Is there a possibilty to draw a triangular filled contour in a equilateral triangle (like a ternary plot)? Thanks in advance Johannes http://n4.nabble.com/file/n1557386/Bild3.png -- View this message in context: http://n4.nabble.com/Triangular-filled-contour-plot-tp1557386p1557386.html

[LLVMdev] LLVM 3.6: problems building on Windows using MSVC 2013
Hi, I have been using LLVM+Clang in my project for some time and it has been working just fine up to now (I am currently using version 3.5.1). However, with version 3.6 having just been released, I thought I would give it a try and update my code to use MCJIT rather than the now discontinued JIT. Well, this proved to be a relatively smooth process, and everything is now working fine on

[LLVMdev] LLVM 3.6: problems building on Windows using MSVC 2013
Sorry, I am using CMake+JOM or CMake+Ninja, if Ninja is available on the developer’s machine. Either way, it fails in both cases with a message similar to the one I included below (which was obtained using CMake+Ninja). Just in case, my (current) CMakeLists.txt file can be found at here

Process watchdogging anyone ?
Hi ! I have Lighttpd and SCGI clusters running my applications. I self-host at RimuHosting, but I find that my processes die sometimes. I''m not a Linux administrator, so I simply want some kind of watchdogging process to ensure my stuff keeps on truckin''. I found Watchdog::Process on CPAN, but it won''t install. There''s some kind of error. Launchd would be

[LLVMdev] Cross-compiling llvm/clang osx -> win32
Hi, I'm trying to compile llvm/clang so that: it is compiled on osx 10.6, it runs on osx, but it outputs win32 objects. More exactly, I'm building an app which generates a .c file that doesn't include or link with anything, and I'd like to be able to make a win32 .dll of it on osx. Below is what I'm getting. Full log is here: http://pastebin.com/KsPGvAfW It fails while

Application Design
Hi Railsers, How do you design your applications? Do you start coding HTML? Start with the controllers/models? Start in a program like photoshop/gimp/illustrator/inkscape? I start in inkscape, it''s a SVG editor. I sketch all the views of my application, and then I create the views that belong to one controller in RHTML. After that, I do the models/controller, and move on to the

Mousehole stuff
Hey everyone, I''m using mousehole for the first time today (love the artwork, btw) and I seem to be having problems with Camping and Markaby. When I go to the Apps page I get: Camping Problem! streaming ogg from WinAmp
Hi list, I was just wondering if there was a way to stream using ogg format from WinAmp. I could always take the output from WinAmp and feed it in to the sound card on my Linux box and use the live streaming option of ices, but that sounds a bit messy. Also what is a recommended quality to stream ogg at so that modem listeners can pick it up with out many skips. I found that 32k was fine in

spec for model_id should eql
Hello, I''m confused why the spec described below is failing. Other simple comparison specs are passing fine for the same model. The code is working accordingly when I test it through the console, I''m just having difficulty getting this spec to work. Any pointers would be appreciated. params not available for controller specs?
Hi, all, I''m trying to write a spec for a controller method that starts out: def download @orders = Order.find( params[:ids] ) ... and started writing a spec that set params[:ids] to a mock. I was surprised to discover that controller specs (at least in RSpec 1.0.8) don''t offer the use of the params object (per

routes.rb question.
I have a simple program that read all HTML files from a directory and returns parts of the content and the file names which are HREFs to those file. I build the HREF string dynamicaly as PATH_TO_DOC_ROOT + "file_name". My PATH_TO_DOC_ROOT = http://127.0.0.1:3000/docman/public/docs. So, the final link that I am interested in might look like this:
