Redirecting user on object.save failures
Hi,
I''m trying to create a chatboard (I call it my BoomBox, each post is
called a "boom") which appears on every page of a weblog I''m building. I
have a scaffold-built controller called Boom, and the form to post to
the BoomBox is written into my default layout. So, the form can be
viewed from several of my other controllers, in most of their actions.
The form

SUGGESTION: Settings to disable forked processing in R, e.g. parallel::mclapply()

Performant in terms of speed. There's no copying in that example
using `mclapply` and so it is significantly faster than other
alternatives.
It is a very simple and contrived example, but

Hi all,
I am having some problems in updating some packages from source. I start
with :

I get the following error message :

cygwin1.dll problems when installing packages from source
Hi,
As far as I can see, no.
On checking, I have confirmed that the only location of
cygwin1.dll is :
C:\Rtools\bin
Thanks

I would re-install Rtools, and make sure C:\Rtools\bin appears first in
your PATH.

Tomas,
I think you're not addressing the actual issue which is a clear regression in Sys.getenv() [because it used to work and still works for single env var, but not a list] and the cryptic error due to that regression (caused by changes in R-devel). So in either case, Sys.getenv needs fixing (i.e., this should really go to the bugzilla). Its behavior is currently inconsistent.

SUGGESTION: Settings to disable forked processing in R, e.g. parallel::mclapply()
I think it's worth saying that mclapply() works as documented: it
relies on forking, and so doesn't work well in environments where it's
unsafe to fork. This is spelled out explicitly in the documentation of
?mclapply:
It is strongly discouraged to use these functions in GUI or embedded
environments, because it leads to several processes sharing the same
GUI which will likely cause

How to override pagination_links method
I intend to override pagination_links method.
I added following lines of code in application_helper.rb
module ActionView
module Helpers
def pagination_links(paginator, options={}, html_options={})
raise("boom!!")
end
end
end
But my code is not executing my code. The view is still using the method
pagination_links from rails.
What''s the correct way to override

Yes.

its contents. I normally don't top-post.
