Missing values detected when there are no missing values
I am hoping for some advice on the following matters. I have a csv data file with 153 variables x 92 rows. To determine what the variables looked like I ran the summary command. One variable had a large number of missing values 54/92. For some reason, all subsequent 74 variables are reported as having 92 NA values, irrespective of whether the original csv variable was complete or not.

Enquiry regarding Apply
I want to compute a new variable (newvar) based on the values of two other variables (t1freq, t2freq).The two variables (t1freq,t2freq) are contained in a dataframe - study1dat <- read.csv("c:\\study1rb.csv",header=T) . I gather this computation can be done using Apply and I have run the following example from the help menu ## Compute row and column sums for a matrix: x

Using influence plots and obtaining id numbers
I am a novice R user, and I am having difficulty understanding R's influence plots. I am trying to remove outliers from a particular variable, "sib." I am able to generate influence plots and further outlier information such as below (which is a shortened example). For my analyses, I end up excluding the points R refers to, 7, 18, 26, and 105. However, my question is, how can I

manipulating the result of by()
Hi. I have the following problem. I use by() to compute a table of observed and expected counts of a variable (eg sobjects who belong to a smoking category) within combination of 4 factors (age class, education, sex, region) for a total 4*3*2*5 tables. I get a list of length 120 and dim 4. Noww I want to sum the tables within the level of one of the grouping variables, eg age class. How can I

y-axis of lattice panels not printing to paper
Greetings, I am printing lattice plots from the R-interface to a printer, and although the y-axes of the left-most panels are visable on the screen, they are not present on the paper when there are multiple panels (ie, >1). For example: trellis.device(bg='white') histogram(~dbh, data=diameter.df) ###print to a printer from the R-interface by clicking the print button on the

Ferret not building index successfully all of a sudden
I''ve been using acts_as_ferret for a couple of months now. Everything was going fine. Suddenly, however, when I try to rebuild my index, only 1 of the 2 models I index gets indexed correctly. Looking in the ferret_server logs, it says that both were successfully rebuilt. However, one of the indexes has no data in the folder. The other was index correctly. The odd thing is that this only

Is anyone successfully using Solaris 8/Samba 3.0.x w/ads and OpenLDAP > 2.1.22?
Has anyone had success getting OpenLDAP > 2.1.22 to work with Samba and ADS. I can get 2.1.22 to work with Samba 3.0.x. If I try a newer version, it barfs when it calls ldap_set_option in function ads_do_search. I've tried with 3.0.14a and 3.0.20pre2. They changed how OpenLDAP interacts with Kerberos after 2.1.23. I did exchange some emails with the OpenLDAP developers. It wasn't

anyone successfully using sr-iov on xen 4.0.1?
I''m currently unable to make it fully work. If there are successes out there that are willing to share config, etc, I''d really like to compare. My current efforts: o physical nics mapped to linux HVM guests work, get network access o virtual nics (sr-iov functions) get mapped to linux HVM guests, report link up, but do not get network access (IRQ black hole??) "Cannot copy...The operation completed successfully" / OpenSolaris 2008
I''ve got a screen grab of this here: http://web.mac.com/davekoelmeyer/Dave_Koelmeyer/Dave_Koelmeyer_-_OpenSolaris_2008.05_CIFS_File_Server_OS_Win_XP_Copy_Prob_1.html Also, I am also seeing the behaviour in that Nexenta forum link, where file copy seemingly gets right to the very end, then craps out. [LLVMdev] successfully bootstraped on a i686-linux-gnu
Hi, I recently bootstrapped gcc4 frontend on a i686-linux-gnu too. As I notice, if the llvm "tools-only " was build with srcdir != objdir , the building of llvm-gcc4-1.7.source encountered mistakes of unable to find some header files. So I just edited llvm-gcc4-1.7.source/gcc/Makefile.in and a line like this: INCLUDES += -I$(LLVMOBJDIR)/include With this change, the building errors

[LLVMdev] llvm-2.2 cannot be successfully built with 'make ENABLE_OPTIMIZED=1'
Hello, Andrew, > I have checked by libstdc++, with a higher version: > > [wuxi at ppidellsc1420 lib]$ rpm -q libstdc++ > > libstdc++-4.1.1-52.el5 It is lower version. You should use newer version (the one, you've built during gcc 4.2.3 compilation) for the binaries built with new compiler. There are two solutions: 1. Build new gcc with --disable-shared, which will
