Creat new column based on condition
Hi, How can I accomplish this task in R? V1 10 20 30 10 10 20 Create a new column V2 such that: If V1 = 10 then V2 = 4 If V1 = 20 then V2 = 6 V1 = 30 then V2 = 10 So the O/P looks like this V1 V2 10 4 20 6 30 10 10 4 10 4 20 6 Thanks in advance. Sachin

minor error in documentation of pmax in base (PR#2513)
The documentation says, "pmax and pmin take several vectors as arguments and return a single vector giving the parallel maxima (or minima) of the vectors." I discovered that, if you use a matrix or array instead of a vector, pmax returns a matrix or array, respectively. This makes pmax and pmin much more useful, and should not be left to people to discover on their own! For example:

prediction interval for new value
Hi, 1. How do I construct 95% prediction interval for new x values, for example - x = 30000? 2. Dataframe modification
Hi, How can I accomplish this in R. I have a Dataframe with 3 columns. Column B and C have same elements. But column A has more elements than B and C. I want to compare Column A with B and do the following: If A is not in B then insert a new row in B and C and fill these new rows with B = A and C = 0. So finally I will have balanced dataframe with equal no of rows (entries) in

Handling large dataset & dataframe
Hi, I have a dataset consisting of 350,000 rows and 266 columns. Out of 266 columns 250 are dummy variable columns. I am trying to read this data set into R dataframe object but unable to do it due to memory size limitations (object size created is too large to handle in R). Is there a way to handle such a large dataset in R. My PC has 1GB of RAM, and 55 GB harddisk space running

override pmin/pmax for my own matrix
Hello, I'm trying to override pmin and pmax for my own matrix. These two functions have ... as an argument. I tried to override them as follows: setMethod("pmax", class_name, function(x, ..., na.rm) { ... }) I use this way to override primitive functions such as min/max and it works fine. But it doesn't work for pmin and pmax. I guess because they are regular functions? How

[LLVMdev] Optimization puzzle...
Here's a version that doesn't try to do block deletion on it's own. If you use -adce then -simplifycfg, you get what you want. It passes all tests except one, which is that we delete an invoke of a pure function, IE Transforms/ADCE/dce_pure_invoke.ll - I'm not sure why that's bad. The reason we delete it is because it returns false to I.mayHaveSideEffects(), and in particular,

initialize expression in 'quasi' (PR#8486)
This is not so much a bug as an infelicity in the code that can easily be fixed. The initialize expression in the quasi family function is, (uniformly for all links and all variance functions): initialize <- expression({ n <- rep.int(1, nobs) mustart <- y + 0.1 * (y == 0) }) This is inappropriate (and often fails) for variance function "mu(1-mu)".

CKD-Epi formula
Hi all, I have a question and I do not know If I am at the right place to ask this question. But is there someone that has the formula of CKD-Epi in code in R? I have tried a lot of loops, but none of the approaches give me the right answer. Is there someone who has this formula coded? Thank you! [[alternative HTML version deleted]]
