Help with read.zoo and transform
R
I get a daily feed of data over the internet that I keep in various .csv
files.
I have built a function that reads that data into R for me:
getMarketData<-function(market)
{
library(zoo)
pathname<- "C:/DATA/"
files<-c("AN_REV.csv","AX_REV.csv","BN_REV.csv")
markets<-c("AUS","DAX","GBP")

Question about datatypes/plotting issue
Hi,
I am trying to plot the Case-Shiller index found at: http://www2.standardandpoors.com/spf/pdf/index/CSHomePrice_History_022445.xls
The way I'm importing it into R is as follows:
library(gdata)
W <- read.xls("http://www2.standardandpoors.com/spf/pdf/index/CSHomePrice_History_022445.xls

Hi Kelly,
Try running 'iostat -xdmc 1'. Look for a single drive that has
substantially greater await than ~10msec. If all the drives
except one are taking 6-8msec, but one is very

R25SRV32.EXE crashes while printing from D2k->Wine->Ubuntu
Hi,
Recently, I've installed Wine 1.0.1 on top of Ubuntu 10.04.
Later, I installed Oracle Forms and Reports (Ver 4.5) on wine. Installation went fine and the application working well on wine, except the printing function.
Whenever, I issue print command from oracle reports (ver 4.5) window, the wine application freezes and the following error pops-up.
The error is:

scaling data for microarray
Hello All,
I am new to R and want to use R to scale my data
before analysis. I need to do two fold scaling: a).
scale on a per object (chip) basis, scale to a mean of
0 and stddev to 1; b). scale on a per feature basis:
scale data linearly to the interval [0,1].
Could somebody help me with this?
Thanks a lot,
Jas

SVM? Comparison method wanted: 3 Groups, Microarray data
Dear all,
i have microarray data of 3 classes of patients. It's not a time course experiment only steady state.
I used a rule-based method to classify the groups by the expression of the genes. This works out so far. Nevertheless I want to check my results with an other method. Therefore I look for one and want to ask you, what you suggest.
I have 3 different patient groups, only the steady

wolfinger microarray normalization
Hi,
concerning my earlier mail, maybe someone has noted from the variable names
that I try to analyse mircoarrary experiments.
Does anybody know of a R-implementation of the two-step mixed-model
normalization procedure proposed by
Wolfinger et al. (2001) J. Comput. Biol. 8:625-637?
That would be great,
best,
joerg

filter high-throughput microarray data with noise
Dear Listers:
Currently I am doing a research using a microarray data. I have two
questions and hope I can get some help from here:
1. I have a dataset like the following, in which V1 is geneid,
v3...are the fold changes of expression levels for different patients.
There are multiple probes for one gene, so there are multiple rows.
You can see from column V11 and V13, the fold changes are very

NA microarray for kmeans clustering
Hello,
I'm a graduate student in Genetics, who has just started working with R. I
have been trying to do a k-means clustering of an expression data
compilation, which has lots of NA values in it. As suggested in a couple of
earlier posts, I tried using na.omit() and the MICE imputation algorithm to
take care of the NA, but they dont seem to work that well. na.omit() deletes
the entries,

Complete newbie - create microarray image from data file?
Hey
So sorry to be a total newbie, but i'm just finding my feet with R.
I heard on the grapevine i could recreate a scanned microarray image, or at
least get a good graphic of it from a just a data file.
I have .txt files for illumina beadarrays but no images cos the service we
used didn't send them. The 'beadarray' package seems to require TIFFs to get
the graphic output.

Variability Plot For Toray Microarray Data
Is there any package that allow you to perform "MA plot" like graph
for Toray microarray data?
Unlike Affymetrix CEL file which contain 2 values (R and G),
Torray raw data only contain 1 value.
MA-plot is Affymetrix specific which usually available for in (limma)
package.
