similar to: (g)lm ordinal or scaled values?

Hello, I am fitting a coxph model with factors. I am running into problems when using 'survfit'. I am unsure how R is treating the factors when I fit, say: > DATA<-data.frame(time.sec,done,f.pom=factor(f.pom),po,vo) > final<-coxph(Surv(time.sec,done)~f.pom*vo+po,data=DATA) > final.surv<-survfit((final), individual=T,conf.type="log-log")

I have a large dataset grouped by a factor and I want to perform a regression on each data subset based on this factor. There are many ways to do this, posted here and elsewhere. I have tried several. However I found one method posted on the R wiki which works exactly as I want, and I like the elegance and simplicity of the solution, but I don't understand how it works. Hi all, how can I divide two tables of the same dimension so that all names are preserved, ie do not become NA? I have "tab1" and "tab2", each having names in the first column. I want "tab3" with the same names and values "tab1/tab2". Thanks, Serguei
