I thought I'd like to try out JGR, but after installing the package (and
dependencies) I receive the following when I try to load it:

Note: On Mac OS X we strongly recommend using iplots from within JGR.
Proceed at your own risk as iplots cannot resolve potential ev.loop

Problem in loading all packages all at once
Hi All
Please see the Rprofile file which i have modified as follows and after
that when I start R then I see that R says to me "TRUE" for all the
packages implying that all loaded at once.
But when i try to use commands as simple as help("lm"), it doesnt work nor
any of the menu "Packages" is not working.
Although the regression using lm ( Y ~ X ) is working

unloadNamespace
It's probably because the first thing that unloadNamespace does is this:
ns <- asNamespace(ns, base.OK = FALSE)
If you call asNamespace("tseries"), it calls getNamespace("tseries"), which
has the side effect of loading that package (and its dependencies).
One way to work around this is to check loadedNamespaces() before you try
to unload a package.

I have just installed the 64 bit version of R, using yum. The version
is: 2.6.2-1.fc7.1.x86_64.

Dear R Team,
Yesterday I downloaded R 0.90.0 and the current versions of some
packages (tseries, quadprog,...).
I had no problems to build the program using FreeBSD 3.2 and SuSe Linux 6.1.
I also re-build all packages required by tseries.
I checked out portfolio.optim (package:

unloadNamespace
In the documentation the closed thing I see to an explanation of this is
that ?detach says "Unloading some namespaces has undesirable side effects"
Can anyone explain why unloading tseries will load zoo? I don't think
this behavior is specific to tseries, it's just an example. I realize
one would not usually unload something that is not loaded, but I would
expect it to do

JGR doesn't launch after updating to R 2.2.1
Dear r-helpers,
After updating to R version 2.2.1, 2005-12-20, powerpc-apple-
darwin7.9.0 (from binary), JGR wouldn't launch. I then deleted
everything I could find related to JGR, and reinstalled it from the
latest binary. Both R and JGR are installed in /Applications/
\~LocalApps/mathStat/.
Advice on how to identify the source of the problem?

Error with 'var' in JGR
R-Users,
I had a strange occurrence this AM I could use some help with. 'var' seems to have ceased to work for me when I used JGR 1.3 interface. So, I ran a quick test (following pg 57 of Dalgaard) in both the basic RGui and JGR interface (see below). I have re-installed R 2.2.1 and JGR 1.3 but had no luck so far figuring this out? Anyone have a suggestion? Or did I just make a

TSA package dependencies
In Ubuntu 10.04, from the R command line
install.packages('TSA',dep=TRUE)
downloads & installs about 100 packages from CRAN, including some big
ones like Zelig. It's only supposed to depend on leaps, locfit, mgcv,
& tseries & through them akima, lattice, quadprog, zoo, & stats.
Not a big problem of course, but I wondered if anyone else had noticed
this behaviour.
