scatterplot3d: fractionary xrange
Dear all,
I'm plotting this and I need x range = (-2.5, 2.5).
require(scatterplot3d)
scatterplot3d(1,1,1, pch=19, xlim=c(-2.5, 2.5), zlim=c(0,2),
ylim=c(0,3), xaxs="i", yaxs="i")
In any case, it seems that in the drawing range for x is (-3,3).
I guessed I could have this kind of behaviour for ranges:
plot(1,1, pch=19, xlim=c(-2.5, 2.5), ylim=c(0,3),

3d from file
Dear all,
sorry if it's obvious but I wasn't able to find a solution by myself.
I have a text file filled with 3 colums representing xyz coodinates
(i.e. positions) of an objects.
Can I have in R a 3d plot representig my object' s positions?
I guess that I can but I don't know how.
Any help is much appreciated
Thanks a lot

Use case for HDF5 dataspace interface
1. This relates to the package *rhdf5* and its implementation of the HDF5
dataspace interface. I am asking for an example of how other people who use
this package make use of the HDF5 data space interface exposed by the
library.
Longer answer:
As per my understanding, the dataspace interface exposes data locations
within a dataspace, but even while retrieving data from an hdf5 file using
methods

Use case for HDF5 dataspace interface
This question is a clone of my stackoverflow question which never got
answered (o_O). Therefore I am posting it here. I would really like some
inputs if possible.
I am currently building some applications which make use of HDF5 files.
I have already taken a look at the hdfgroup website with regards to
dataspace <https://support.hdfgroup.org/HDF5/doc/H5.user/Dataspaces.html>
and I think I

Use case for HDF5 dataspace interface
1. What does this have to do with R?
2. If it concerns computational biology, the Bioconductor Help list
may be a better place to post.

rsync parameters errors
In my new bash script, I'm doing what I think is a very simple rsync
command the way I'm used to doing it. I just do a lot of setup and
checking before I get to it.
When I run it, it gets very unhappy with me. It's probably something
very simple.
I need to build the rsync command in a string so that some things can go
away - like if my variables DRY_RUN and DELETE are undefined,

HDF5 compound data types and h5r/hdf5 R packages
Hi there,
I have a Java process that writes HDF5 files with the following
approximate structure:

dataset {}
}
group "zzz" {
dataset {}
dataset {}
}
}
where dataset is a rank one dataspace having a compound datatype defined as:

locks feature not loading ? (2.0.0rc1)
Hi all,
I upgraded from 1.4.0rc3 to 2.0.0rc1 in my test environment, and while
the upgrade itself went smoothly, i appear to be having problems with
the (posix-)locks feature. :( The feature is clearly declared in the
server config file, and according to the DEBUG-level logs, it is loaded
successfully at runtime ; however, when Gluster attempts to lock an
object (for the purposes of AFR

efficient ways to dynamically grow a dataframe
Hi,
I'm trying to write a small microsimulation in R: that is, I have a
dataframe with info on N individuals for the base-year and I have to
grow it dynamically for T periods:
df = data.frame(
id = 1:N,
x =....
)
The most straightforward way to solve the problem that came to my mind
is to create for every period a new dataframe:
for(t in 1:T){
for(i in 1:N){
row = data.frame(
id =

help
Dear Sir/Madam,
I got some problem about using R.
I am a student, and need to use R a lot. But sometimes when I am working in
computer lab, we can not install some particular pacakges by ourselves because
of the previliges.
Can the folder of Librabry of R, move to, for instance the personal folder, my
documents... then we can install any specified package?
Best regards,

I have a problem when I try to browse my machine from a windows client. In

I checked nmbd and smbd and they are running.
If I try from my unix-clinet: smbclient -L my_user -W my_domain -L my_PDC I
can see shares.

R and HDF5 Question
Hello All,
I just signed up to this list, so I apologize if this question has been
asked before.
I am trying to load an hdf5 file into R and running into some problems. Here
are the steps I took to configure my environment:
* R 2.10.0 (x64) on Mac OS X 10.6
* hdf5 1.8.3 installed via macports
* hdf5_1.6.9.tar.gz from CRAN
I suspect the problem I am having relates to

help with scatterplot3d
Hello,
I am having a bit of trouble with scatterplot3d().
I was able to plot a 3d cloud of points using the following code:
>my.3dplot<-scatterplot3d(my.coords, pch=19, zlim=c(0,1), scale.y=0.5,
angle=30, box=FALSE)
where my.coords is a data frame that contains x, y, and z coordinates for
grid points whose elevation we sampled.
The problem occurs when I try to add points using points3d.

persp(), scatterplot3d(), "..." argument
Hello list.
I very often need 3d scatterplots, and use scatterplot3D quite a lot.
I am trying to modify persp() to plot scatterplots, and make use of
the theta and phi arguments that persp() offers. I am having some
difficulty passing the correct arguments to persp().
Here is my function so far. Much of it is copied from the persp() manpage.

polygons on scatterplot3d
Does anyone have any experience plotting complex polygons on a
scatterplot3d display? I would like to present some spatially binned
data in a 3-d type plot with background polygons (i.e.. a filled
coastline map). I can get the coastline onto the plot window as a
line type but cannot figure out how to fill the shape. I'm certain it
may be possible but might require a bit of digging

suggestions for ANOVA which includes the "year" as a factor
Dear R Fundation,
I am a post-doc researcher at the University of Pisa, Italy.
I apologize for my english and I have to tell you in advance that I
am a very beginner with R.
I used R for fitting dose-response curves (drc package) and for an
ordinary ANOVA (one, two or three factors), including the post-hoc
mean comparison (I used the LSD test...).
Now I have to process some simple data on
