Re: RE Vertical bars with barchart()
Hi, [I'mm cc-ing r-help on this, since some others might be interested (Tony Rossini is, at least)] Yes, I saw your mail and was wondering about what would be the best approach to do it. It's definitely not trivial, mainly because Trellis is not designed to handle factors on the x-axis (chiefly for convenience, as factors typically have long names which are difficult to write on the

adding error bars to lattice plots
Dear R users, About a year ago Deepayan offered a suggestion to incorporate error bars into a dotplot using the singer data as an example <<http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/R/Rhelp02a/archive/63875.html>>. When I try to utilize this code with a grouping variable, I get an error stating that the subscripts argument is missing. I have tried to insert them in various ways, but cannot

error bars in lattice xyplot *with groups*
Hi all, I'm trying to plot error bars in a lattice plot generated with xyplot. Deepayan Sarkar has provided a very useful solution for simple circumstances (https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-help/2005-October/081571.html), yet I am having trouble getting it to work when the "groups" setting is enabled in xyplot (i.e. multiple lines). To illustrate this, consider the singer data

lattice: index plot
Dear all, How can I make an index plot with lattice, that is plotting a vector simply against its particular index in the vector, i.e. something similar to y <- rnorm(10) plot(y) I don't want to specify the x's manually, as this could become cumbersome when having multiple panels. I tried something like library(lattice) mp <- function(x, y, ...) { x <- 1:length(y)

different x-axes in Lattice
I use lattice package and 'barchart' to build a chart. I have a problem with setting different x-axes. Some x categories are missing but they are display and I don't want. I use scales = list(y = "free",x="free") but it works only for y-axes. Simple example: package(lattice) barchart(yield ~ variety | site, data = barley, groups = year, layout = c(1,6),

Error Bars in lattice- barcharts
Hello, I am attempting to write a script that adds error bars to a barchart. I basing my attempt heavily on the following thread: http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/e2/help/06/10/2791.html I can't seem to get around the problem that was discussed in the thread. The following example should illustrate my problem. Sorry about the messy example but I am 1) trying to make it as close as possible

Changing point color/character in qqmath
Having solved this problem, I am posting this so that the next time I search for how to do this I will find an answer... Using qqmath(..., groups=num) creates a separate qq distribution for each group (within a panel). Using the 'col' or 'pch' argument does not (usually) work because panel.qqmath sorts the data (but not 'col' or 'pch') before plotting. Sorting

lattice::bwplot with unbalanced design
Hi, I have an experimental design with 3 factors (Type, size and Modality), where the stimulus for Type==B, size==small was identical to that for Type==A, size==small. Since I am in the end only interested in Type==A, I "relabeled" all Type==B,size==small responses as Type==A,size==small. This gives me an unbalanced design, with a certain number of missing combinations, and others that

New Eyes Needed to See Syntax Error
One of many scripts to produce 4 lattice plots on one page keeps throwing an error. I've tried manipulating the file to eliminate the error, but have not been able to do so. The error is: > source('bicarb.R') Error in source("bicarb.R") : bicarb.R:15:1: unexpected symbol 14: 15: hco33 ^ The 'h' is in column 0 so the caret would be column -1, but it's

Plotting second axes outside xyplot
Hi all, I'm trying to find a way to get xyplot to produce a second set of axes outside the right hand side of the graph. This is my progress so far: EE <- equal.count(ethanol$E, number=9, overlap=1/4) xyplot(NOx ~ C | EE, data = ethanol, prepanel = function(x, y) prepanel.loess(x, y, span = 1), xlab = "Compression Ratio", ylab = "NOx (micrograms/J)",

panel-dependent distribution in qqmath
In qqmath, how would one go about having 'distribution' change with panel.number? I've tried set.seed(1) mydata <- data.frame(ind = factor(rep(2:4, each = 100))) mydata$val <- rt(300, df=rep(2:4, each = 100)) plot<-qqmath(~ val | ind, layout=c(3,1), data = mydata, prepanel = function(x, distribution, ...) {

[LLVMdev] How to Cross Compile libcompiler_rt Static Library?
I was attempting to cross compile on Windows. I ended up having to find the list in the CMake build system (not very hard) and manually creating a makefile to compile them. Took maybe 2 hours total. Date on x-axis of xyplot
xyplot doesn't seem to want to label my x-axis with dates but instead puts the day-number for each date. begdate is the number of days since January 1, 1960 and was initially created by library(date) ... polls$begdate<-mdy.date(begmm,begdd,begyy) I create a new dataframe (pollstack) which includes begdate. In the process begdate seems to lose its date attribute so I redo it as: >
