Sweave, R and complex latex projects
Hello all,
I've been able to use R very successfully to run simple statistics and
generate the plots I require.
I've been evaluating Sweave, and have hit upon a small problem that I
don't seem to be able to workaround. Sweave runs very well for single
file latex documents, but I have a complex thesis made up of several
parts and chapters. These are arranged with a master latex file

problem with Sweave on 1.6 on NT4
Hi,
I recently compiled 1.6 on NT4 but
I am having a problem with Sweave.
Using the inbuilt 'Sweave-test-1.Rnw' file as an example:
-------
> library(tools)
> testfile <- file.path(.path.package("tools"),
"Sweave", "Sweave-test-1.Rnw")
## create a LaTeX file

Question on Sweave-Latex and examples in the Sweave Manual
Hi List,
I have a problem with using Latex and Sweave for creating a document.
So I downloaded the Sweave manual from
http://www.statistik.lmu.de/~leisch/Sweave/Sweave-manual.pdf
and i have tried to replicate the example on pages 4-5, but i encounter the following problem: IT DOES NOT WORK. I can run Sweave, create the .tex file and then when building the .tex file in TeXnikCenter i get all

Newbie help with Sweave
I think I've gotten my Emacs/Sweave/R system set up correctly, thanks to
Vincent and Jim, but I haven't been successful getting my first document
produced. I'm trying to use one of Friedrich Leisch's examples,
http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~leisch/Sweave/example-1.Snw. I cut and
pasted the text into a document sweaveexample.Rnw in Emacs. It seemed to
be processed successfully with R:

Troubleshooting sweave
Hi All,
I've reproduced the example from Prof. Friedrich Leisch's webpage. When I
write sweave("Example-1.Snw") OR sweave("Example-1.Rnw"), (yes, I renamed
them). I get the following error:
Writing to file example-1.tex
Processing code chunks ...
1 : echo term verbatim
Error: chunk 1
Error in library(ctest) : there is no package called 'ctest'

Sweave: problem with usepackage{C:/PROGRA~1/R/R-27~1.0/share/texmf/Sweave}
R users,
I'm at a loss with a problem considering running .tex files produced
by Sweave. When I run (R 2.7.0):

Run Sweave and LaTeX directly from command line
Hello!
Those of you, who use Sweave a lot, will probably find my shell script
usable. You can get it at:
http://www.bfro.uni-lj.si/MR/ggorjan/programs/shell/Sweave.sh
No warranty, however don't hesitate to contact me if you find an error or
have a patch!

Sweave problem in Windows
Hi,
I have searched the lists but still can not solve the problem. I am using a
windows machine. After I sweave some Rnw file, I got a tex file. However,
the tex file can not be compiled. I know the problem is in the line
\usepackage{C:/PROGRA~1/R/R-25~1.1/share/texmf/Sweave} and I need to modify
this line to
\usepackage{Sweave}.
I hope there can be some automatic way to do this instead of

Sweave and Rnews
Hello list,
I am writing a paper for Rnews. I use Sweave to do it. I did not find
information about writing a paper for Rnews using Sweave and have some
questions:
- Is there a problem to use the environment 'Sinput' in the place of
'example' or 'smallexample'. It works fine but perhaps there are some
technical/editorial problems ?
- I have some long lines of code in

AW: built-in Sweave-like documentation in R-2.x

thank you, i saw this entry. However, this entry is rather
about how to include documents (in particular Sweave-based)
into a package. But I have meant smth else.
Let me explain in example. Today I use emacs as
environment for my R-sessions. I am quite happy to

Sweave and bibliographies
I added a bibliographic reference to one of my .Rnw documents, to wit:
\begin{thebibliography}{9}
\bibitem{Jose} Jos{\'{e}} C. Pinheiro and Douglas M. Bates,
\emph{Mixed-Effects Models in S and S-PLUS},
Springer, 2000.
\end{thebibliography}
just before the \end{document}.
When I run Sweave on the result these lines disappear without a trace.
Is this intentional?

Rscript -e, Sweave and tempdir()
Hello R-Help
I have a question about the "behind the scenes" behaviour of the Rscript -e command and particularly its interaction with Sweave and tempdir().
We are trying to deploy R as a web service to do water quality analyses and have been writing software to call Sweave via Rscript eg:
cmd> Rscript -e Sweave('sweavefile.Rnw')
One problem we have been having is that

Sweave (PR#2142)
In the 'RWeaveLatexSetup' function in the 'tools' package in R 1.6.0 , the
code below does not work (pdflatex can't find 'Sweave.sty'):
if (stylepath)
styfile <- file.path(R.home(), "share", "texmf", "Sweave")
else styfile <- "Sweave"
In R 1.5.1, that was:

Dynamically switching lattice device characteristics in Sweave under Makefile control
I am indebted to Deepayan Sarkar for lattice graphics, Fritz Leisch
for Sweave and the authors of the beamer package for LaTeX. For me
these are a "killer app" combination. I wouldn't want to go back to
creating presentations in any other way.
When I create a presentation I use a Makefile that allows me to the
presentation version of the slides, a 4-up version for printing on
