quadratic trends and changes in slopes
I'd like to use linear and quadratic trend analysis in order to find out a change in slope. Basically, I need to solve a similar problem as discussed in http://www.gseis.ucla.edu/courses/ed230bc1/cnotes4/trend1.html My subjects have counted dots: one dot, two dots, etc. up to 9 dots. Alignment of image plot overlay
I'm having trouble with alignment of a trend line overlayed onto an image plot. The two should be plotted on the same x-axis (time-series). However, the trend line begins about an inch into the image plot x-axis and ends about an inch off of end of the image plot. WLS regression weights
Hello. I'm am trying to follow a recommendation to deal with a dependent variable in a linear regression. I read that, due to the positive trend in my dependent variable residual vs mean function, I should 1) run a linear regression to estimate the standard deviations from this trend, and 2) run a second linear regression and use 1 / variance as weight.
