ANOVA: Help with SSQ decomposition and contrasts
# Dear R list, # # A have a doubt about SSQ decomposition and contrasts with ANOVAs. # So, I would like a tip from more advanced R users. # Below my data, the basic script and my doubts: # Data r = paste('r', gl(3, 8), sep='') e = paste('e', rep(gl(2, 4), 3), sep='') tra = sort(paste('t', rep(1:6, 4), sep='')) y = c(26.2, 26.0, 25.0, 25.4,

R-beta: par
I started using R to draw different plots. Thereby I'm having different problems adjusting graphical parameters. I wonder wy, because I don't see any reason. I'm using R61.1 with Linux Slackware (kernel 2.0?), emacs19.31 and ESS-5.0 1. I want to write a text on margin-site 4, therefore I need to reduce my plot in size . But whatever I do, the size doesn't change:

trouble with step() and stepAIC() selecting the best model
Hello, I have some trouble using step() and stepAIC() functions. I'm predicting recruitment against several factors for different plant species using a negative binomial glm. Sometimes, summary(step(model)) or summary(stepAIC(model) does not select the best model (lowest AIC) but just stops before. For some species, step() works and stepAIC don't and in others, it's the opposite.

Index vectors get overwriten ?!
Hello, For some analysis of a mesh structure I need to prepare several vectors of indexes of different length. This is done by the following code sequence (including diagnostic output): #-------------------------------------------------- MT_ind <- which(V1.frame[,2] %in% mm[,1]) print("M_ind") str(M_ind) Q1_ind <- which(V1.frame[,2] %in% mq1) print("Q1_ind")

rtp payload lenth
Hello to all speex developers, I have question regarding payload length of narrowband speex in RTP. I were watching tcpdump of the xlite softphone and have found that it uses weird payload length namely 75 Bytes I went through various source and without success. To be clear: For 8000Hz sample in 20 ms that is 160 samples per frame. This makes 50 frames per sec. modes bit-rate 8 kbit/s

Timeseries Data Plotted as Monthly Boxplots
Hello, I'm trying to develop a box plot of time series data to look at the range in the data values over the entire period of record. My data initially starts out as a list of hourly data, and then I've been using this code to make this data into the final ts array. # Read in the station list stn.list <- read.csv("/home/kbennett/fews/stnlist3", as.is=T, header=F) # Read in
