Boxplot and range of x-axis
Hello there,
could somebody help me with this: I have to create a lot of boxplots but
with same range concerning the x-axis.
For example I have following data:
liste1 <- c(3,4,5,3,3,4,4)
liste2 <- c(1,2,3,4,6)
png(file = "liste1.png")
boxplot(liste1)
png(file = "liste2.png")
boxplot(liste2)
q()
Works perfectly, but what I need would be that both boxplots have their

PLS regression on near infrared (NIR) spectra data
Dear collegues,
I´ ve worked with near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy to assess chemical,
physical, mechanical and anatomical properties of wood.
I use "The Unscrambler" software to correlate the matrix of dependent
variables (Y) with the matrix of spectral data (X) and I would like to
migrate to R. The matrix of spectral variables is very large (2345 columns
and n lines, where n =

[Newbie] Row-Iterator for data.frame??
hello all,
for my diploma-thesis i want to statitically analyze near-infrared-spectra.
a spectrum is given by the y-values of 1038 equi-distant x-points.
in nature, a spectrum is a continuous curve. for analysis, every x-point
is seen as a statistical variable.
now my problem:
first, i read a csv-table in a data.frame called sTable via read.table.
besides some meta-data there are 1038 variables

Vectorization of three embedded loops
Dear R-programmer,
I wrote an adapted implementation of the Kennard-Stone algorithm for
sample selection of multivariate data (R 2.7.1 under MacBook Pro,
Processor 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Memory 2 GB 667 MHZ DDR2 SDRAM).
I used for the heart of the script three embedded loops. This makes it
especially for huge datasets very slow. For a datamatrix of 1853*1853
and the selection of 556

Digium X100P vs Dodgy Ebay X100P
Hi
I thought this might be of general interest.
Recently I purchased an X100P from a Digium reseller in the UK. Very
pleased with the card; works perfectly. My friend (known for his deep
pockets and short arms) purchased an X100P card from Ebay. He's had no end
of problems with line noise, dropped called etc so I thought I would compare
the two cards. Plus mine was delivered within two

I think that this should a be a trivial task but I've already read the
documentation but couldn't find out how to get a list of all
workgroups and their hosts with "smbclient".
Could somebody give me a hint please(and sorry for that silly question)?
Greetings,

Dear list members;
Does anyone has implemented a code for doing "Orthogonal Signal Correction" for noise elimination of spectral data (e.g. Near Infrared Data)?

Least-square support vector machines regression!
Dear R-community,
I was using SVM regression (svm {e1071}) for predictions of single
soil properties of a huge data set (3000 samples). There are for the
eps-regression using the radial basis kernel three optimization
parameters needed.
To make things easier (using only two optimization parameters and not
loosing performance) I wanted to use LS SVM regression
(lssvm{kernlab}). But it

Twin HDMI
Hello,
I have an Intel NUC7PJYH running CentOS 6.8. This is a NUC with standard USB, 1GbE and 2*HDMI.
Installation was no problem providing acpi=off.
The problem is that by default the two displays are mirrored and I can?t seem to separate them.
I can only see one HDMI port from CentOS.
I need to see both HDMI ports discreetly.
Can you please help.
