Cooky cookies causes trouble
Hi All, Yesterday wrote about my troubles with naming a table and model cookies and cookie respectively. I know that everybody hates the newbie screaming bug as soon as he encounters behaviour he doesn''t understand. But I''ve reproduced the error in the simplest application possible, and dare therefore say that this quite possible could be a bug in Rails. Database: CREATE TABLE

Cooky Cookies
Hi All, I have a problem with the stemming(?) in rails. I have a table cookie and a Cookie model which I have generated a scaffold for. The problem is that rails starts looking for a file that it calls "cooky.rb", this must be some kind of misunderstanding between me and rails, but how do I correct it? Other scaffolds work just fine. /Hugo NameError in Cookie#index uninitialized

Composite Primary Keys - now works with Rails 1.1.6
Due to the foolish implied assumption that there''d never be a revision to activerecord library, the Composite Primary Key code promptly broke for anyone who updated their apps to Rails 1.1.6 (with its activerecord-1.14.4) Now the gem dependencies are fixed and your legacy databases are free to wield composite primary keys without fear again. auto completion with composite field
How can auto completion be done for a composite field ? Concrete problem : Suppose the class Person with reference to a City object. The City has a name and a postal code. When entering a Person I want to enter the city in one text field that shows a composition of the city name and the postal : "city (postal)". And this with auto complete (and should afterwards be linked to the

Composite Primary Keys 0.3.2
ActiveRecords with composite primary keys now seem to happily support find/create/update/destroy options. Url: http://compositekeys.rubyforge.org Background: Rails/ActiveRecords has long been critised for not supporting legacy databases, especially composite primary keys. This gem extends ARs with this support. Cheers Nic -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Composite Keys 0.3.3
Composite Primary Keys for ActiveRecords Bug fix release - 0.3.3 Notes: Fixed errors with id= and create. Note, the create method does not use sequences to generate ids for you. If anyone has any use cases where their DBs generate ids for their composite keys, pls let me know - we may need to add some syntax to the set_primary_keys command. Doubt on composite index
The AWDwR book has the following: add_index :categories_products, [:product_id, :category_id] add_index :categories_products, :category_id The first, composite index actually serves two purposes: it creates an index which can be searched on both foreign key columns, and with most databases it also creates an index that enables fast lookup by the product id. The second index then completes

validating composite model keys
I know that I should be able to figure this out by looking at the source, but this "ruby newbie" can''t: I have a model for a table with a 3-column composite key. Is there a way to tell the stock validates_uniqueness_of() helper to validate such a key or do I have to write my own? Thanks, Larry -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Composite Key Support
Right now rails doesn''t support composite keys, that is id1, id2, and id3 are in the primary key of the table. Does anyone know if this is being discussed for future versions, or is it pretty much out of scope? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

PARAVIRT_SAVE_FLAGS_IRQ_DISABLE composite callsite
What was the point of this again? Was it that these two operations are used so commonly together that its worth having a special type for them, or is there some correctness issue here? It seems to me that having it adds a fair amount of fiddley complexity, and it doesn't gain very much because patching will make each operation individually fairly efficient. J

Composite Keys on RESTful Routes
I am building an app with existing controllers/actions, using traditional rails routes. I recently started moving over to RESTful routes and have hit a snag. Now I am reconsidering my whole effort and may go back to the original, more flexible, map.connect method. My problem is, one of the resources has composite keys. The keys are both strings as well, and can include dots. Here''s

rake db:schema:dump doesn't produce composite primary key instructions
Hey there, I''ve adjusted some of my many to many join tables recently to use a composite primary key based on the id''s in the two columns - instead of using a surrogate key. I just did a db:schema:dump, and it looks something like this: create_table "class_members", :id => false, :force => true do |t| t.integer "user_id", :default => 0,

Composite Observations Model pattern
I was thinked about it for a two days. Can you please give some ideas? i don''t know if i should use STI, polymorphic or something else. composite primary keys
Hello, Is it true that Rails doesn''t support composite primary keys? I have a legacy system and was pondering adding a new interface to it. This whole Rails thing (and yes, Ruby too) seems pretty interesting but I''d feel ashamed of myself adding an additional column called ''id'' when there''s already a perfectly good composite key. Assuming the rumors

Composite/Zoom in compriz/xgl
First - I'm 24 hours into having xgl and compriz going. (very nice) Second - I'm probably on the wrong list! Is it possible to render (capture?) an image in compriz/xgl that's a higher resolution than the screen output? The zoom plugin for compriz seems to use the native res and then enlarge - at least by default... Thanks, Chris -------------- next part -------------- An HTML
