getting started, reading listing and saving data
Dear List I am new to R and to the list and will try best as I can be clear and concise. My apologies if anything I write contravenes the posting code on this list. I would also like to say I have run through most of the material on the R website before writing this email however, I am stuck. Here is what I want to do and what I have done 1. Read a comma seperated text file into R I have used

copying previously installed libraries to R 2.3.0
hi all, is there a new mechanism in R 2.3.0 for copying libraries from, say, R 2.2.1 to R 2.3.0? i ask because gabor grothendieck comments in his copydir.bat (from gabor's batchfiles at: http://cran.r-project.org/contrib/extra/batchfiles/batchfiles_0.2-5.zip ): ``:: I personally upgraded my 2.1.0 to 2.2.0 this way so it seems ok until :: R replaces this with something better which is

Creating a HTTP Request on missed call?
Hello there, I have successfully installed and configured asterisk for use as an office PBX using SIP trucks and Voip handsets (using g.729 codec) which works great. Now I wish to try and configure asterisk to do a HTTP request and submit callerID to an external website when a call is missed. eg Someone calls PBX and rings extension 100 -> Call is not answered -> HTTP request is initiated

syntax for playlist
I should be more specific . What I meant to ask was - is it necessary for the directory that icecast streams or serves files from to "everyone" or the "world" have at least read permissions. I do plan to experiment with the permisions but I was just asking to see if any one had already tried this. I like to lock down my system as much as possible. Thanks for the help!

xlim, ylim problem in barplot (PR#325)
Hi, all. The lower bound in a barplot (or the left bound if you're making a horizontal barplot) is -0.01 no matter what. This causes problems if you're making a barplot of small values (say, < .001), as most of the plot is taken up with blank space beneath the axis, and the bars are squeezed in at the top. The fix seems to be simple: replace lines 41: xlim <- range(-0.01,

IceS playlist & directory ?
Greetings Is it possible to command IceS to play from a directory instead of creating a playlist with several hundred mp3's. I have read through the threads and notice that Ices can do some great things but I am swithching from a Win2k environment so I am not familiar with python and perl. Is what I am asking possible? Is there some one willing to share scripts created for Ices?

How does btrfs behave on checksum mismatch?
I came across the tidbit that ZFS has a contract guarantee that the data read back will either be correct (the checksum computed over the data read from the disk matches the checksum stored on disk), or you get an I/O error. Obviously, this greatly reduces the probability that the data is invalid. (Particularly when taken in combination with the disk firmware''s own ECC and checksumming.)

Samba 3.0.37 license confusion
Hello Jeremy and samba maintainers, I am using Samba 3.0.37 and I am confused about the license. On one hand both the COPYING file in the 3.0.37 tarball and your website indicates that version 3.0.37 is GPLv2. http://news.samba.org/announcements/samba_gplv3/ On the other hand, in the 3.0.37 tarball, there are many files with GPLv3 headers without any exception. For instance, several file in

format icecast.log to html
I am currently using icecast 1.3x. I would like to know if there is a way I can dump the contents of 'icecast.log' into html or maybe format variables to create an html doc. I looked through my icecast manual but I couldn't find any info or variables used for the log file. Ultimately what I want is to see who, when, and how long it takes to dl a static file. <p><p>---
