Failure to run mcsamp() in package arm
Dear r-helpers,
I can run the examples on the mcsamp help page. For example:

Help with response CIs for lme
Hi,
Can someone please offer a procedure for going from CIs produced by
intervals.lme() to fixed-effects response CIs.
Here's a simple example:
library(mlmRev)
library(nlme)
hsb.lme <- lme(mAch ~ minrty * sector, random = ~ 1 | cses, Hsb82)
(intervals(hsb.lme))
(hsb.new <- data.frame
minrty = rep(c('No', 'Yes'), 2),
sector = rep(c('Public',

Mathematical typesetting of column heads using the latex (Hmisc) function
Dear r-helpers,

retrieve machine password in current Samba?
We have a wireless network that uses 802.1x authentication, in which domain joined computers use their machine credentials to connect.
Windows machines do this automatically, and until recently Linux computers could join using wicd, wpa-supplicant, and a simple script that would retrieve the machine password with tdbdump.
( specifically tdbdump -k SECRETS/MACHINE_PASSWORD/DOMAIN

Standard errors of the predicted values from a lme (or lmer)
Dear Dieter,
sorry for not being more specific. I would like to use R to get a prediction
(with standard error) of the response in a mixed model at selected values of
the fixed-effects factors. Hence, in a mixed model, say, for response body
size with, say, fixed factors sex and age, I would like to get a prediction
of size for each sex and at selected ages such as 5, 10, 15; and I want a SE

In both mails I pursue the idea of using blocking factors in order to
reduce the width of confidence intervals.

three categorical eplanatory variables, namely: "method",

Does anyone have a straightforward example of putting together three
unrelated (expect for a common y-axis) xyplot() figures in what would
be in base graphics a par(mfrow = c(1, 3)) arrangement?
