shell script question
hi all, If I have a shell script on 5.1 that has 2 commands in the script... command1 command2 and command1 runs until it is kill'ed by some other process. Sometimes command2 runs and sometimes it doesnt (this is what it seems like). How can I be ensured that command2 will always run after command1 is killed? The script is not killed just command1. Thanks, jerry

Can't seem to setup remote access to doveadmI'm using
I?m running version 2.1.7 under Raspbian Wheezy (and have been for a number of years). I want to allow one of my other computers to remotely issue doveadm commands to my server but can?t seem to find the right way to add an inet listener to permit this. Using ?doveconf -a? I?ve found the default service definition for doveadm-server. So I copied that and added it to the dovecot configuration with

creating a mailbox via imap
> is there any way with Dovecot to open an admin imap connection and create a brand new mailbox? > With Cyrus imapd I can do this by connecting as the Cyrus admin user and then create a folder "user/newuser at domain.tld". Wouldn't that be dependent on how Dovecot auth worker verifies a user exist and is valid? Such as for one method, database queries. How would Dovecot know

YALAQ - Yet Another LApply Question
Hello, Two lapply questions (system info and sample data below): 1) Why does the first form of command1 add the name of y _after_ the str() output rather than before as does the second (preferred) form? # command1 version1 invisible(lapply(ls(pattern='bn'), function(y) cat(y, "\n", str(get(y)), "\n") )) # command1 version2 (preferred output)

new versions of grid and lattice
Hi There are new versions of the grid and lattice packages on CRAN: grid 0.2 and lattice 0.3-0 These packages are still _under development_ (they are in CRAN/src/contrib/Devel) There have been some bug fixes and, especially in lattice, there are lots of new features. Descriptions of the changes are included below. If you have any grid code, it may break under the new version because of a

Why are the arguments supplied for the command run through ssh interpreted by shell before they are passed to the command on the server side?

key position in trellis plotting area
Hi, I want to do the following: 1) create a trellis plot with 1 x 1 layout 2) add a key in the upper right hand corner of the plotting region (i.e., the panel), but after the initial call to trellis 3) resize the resulting device graphics device without changing the relative position of the key For instance, the code below draws the key relative to the device window--not the plotting area.

matrix operations on grobs and grid units
Dear list, As a minimal test of a more complex grid layout, I'm trying to find a clean and efficient way to arrange text grobs in a rectangular layout. The labels may be expressions, or text with a fontsize different of the default, which means that the cell sizes should probably be calculated using grobWidth() and grobHeight() as opposed to simpler stringWidth() and stringHeight().

[PATCH v5 2/7] tests/c-api: Convert the C API tests to use the test harness.
This involves some significant changes to this test framework. In particular: - Instead of just specifying $srcdir at the start of a FileIn path, you can now specify arbitrary environment variables. This is necessary to allow the tests to run from a tmpdir. - Use COPYING instead of COPYING.LIB, and copy that file into the test suite directory. - Require the static binaries

grid stringHeight
Dear all, I'm puzzled by the behavior of stringHeight in the grid package. Consider the following test, library(grid) test <- function(lab="dog", ...){ g1 <- textGrob(lab) g2 <- rectGrob(height=grobHeight(g1), width=grobWidth(g1)) gg <- gTree(children=gList(g1,g2), ...) print(c("height:", convertUnit(stringHeight(lab), "mm",

drawing framework changes
When I created the current drawing framework, all we were interested in drawing was client windows. We want to draw a lot more today and the design needs to be changed to allow this properly. My current plan is to just adjust the drawing code so it's possible to draw different kind of objects. The core will be aware of some object types and plugins will be able to create it's own type of

DIBEngine and gdi32/user32 controls drawing loop performance
Hello, since I had a poor performance in drawing many buttons and text input fields at the same time into a window with wine, I applied the DIBEngine patch (http://wiki.winehq.org/DIBEngine) that is available for wine 1.1.44 (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=27879) to the 1.1.44 version of wine and started my application program that needs to draw many button and text input fields in a
