send a list from R to C
Hello at all ! What is the correct form to give a list form R (e.g. list(c(-1,1), "TestFile") ) to C. I have no problems, if I don't use character and I have also no problems to give a character vector form R to C. But, if I combine real and strings in a list then I don't know the correct syntax. I try it with following (an example): SEXP writeFile(SEXP headerR){ Image

R friends, I am using R 2.1.0 in a Win XP . I have a problem working with lists, probably I do not understand how to use them. Lets suppose that a set of patients visit a clinic once a year for 4 years on each visit a test, say 'eib' is performed with results 0 or 1 The patients do not all visit the clinic the 4 times but they missed a lot of visits. The test is considered positive if it

The install.R and R_PROFILE.R files
R-exts says Both install.R and R_PROFILE.R should be viewed as experimental; the mechanism to execute code before attaching or installing the package may change in the near future. With the other facilities available as from R 2.0.0 they should be removed if possible. Every usage of these on CRAN is unnecessary. If you want to save the image, say so in the SaveImage field in

Loading libraries: Nas introduced
Hi all, I am trying to package a library in R 1.6.1 (Windoze XP). I have read the document "Writing R extensions" and think I have done things correctly (though apparently not). I have searched the mail archives for help to no avail. When I try to attach the library using, eg > library( libname, lib.loc=path.to.library) I get this message: Warning message: NAs introduced by

Runnable R packages
I don't think anyone denies that you *could* make an EXE to do all that. The discussion is on *how easy* it should be to create a single file that contains an initial "main" function plus a set of bundled code (potentially as a package) and which when run will install its package code (which is contained in itself, its not in a repo), install dependencies, and run the main()

Runnable R packages
Yesterday I wrote and submitted to CRAN a package `run`, which implements the ideas discussed in this thread. Given a package tarball foo_0.1.0.tar.gz, users will be able to run Rscript -e "run::run('foo_0.1.0.tar.gz')" which will pull all the dependencies of package `foo`, lookup a function `main` in that package's namespace, and call it. It's an early draft but

Hi, I'm not sure if this question has been answered before, but when I execute command "Rcmd INSTALL --build nws" to build an R package on Windows, the build process got stucked on the save image step. Runnable R packages
I see some value in Duncan?s proposal to implement this as an extra package instead of a change to base R, if only to see if the idea has legs. I?m minded to do so myself using your suggestion, but is there a particular reason why you recommend using the remotes package instead of devtools? The latter seems to have the same functions I would need, and I believe it is more widely installed that

Hello, Today I started noticing a very odd Dovecot error in the mail logs across 2 replicated Dovecot hosts via dsync. I have searched the Dovecot archives, Google, back tracked, downgraded Dovecot to earlier versions from earlier this year and ruled everything out I could think of to no avail. There really are not any helpful reports with what I am specifically seeing. The strange thing is only
