GPO Permissions _AGAIN_
Hi all,
I'm afraid I'm back to my old issue of GPO permissions.
I have two ADDCs providing an AD Domain (internal.stmaryscollege.co.uk
(short-name 'SMC')). Servers are called 'ad-01' and 'tainan'. ad-01 is
'Version 4.0.10' and tainan is 'Version 4.1.0rc4' (the latest version in
the package repos of the respective OSs (arch and gentoo))
I have

'Administrator' account (UID 0) on Samba member of a Samba4 AD DC
Hi all,
I have a samba server as member of an AD DC.
In said AD DC there is the 'administrator' user which has the default
UID of 0 (the same as root)
from the ADDC:
# id administrator
uid=0(root) gid=513(SMC\Domain Users) groups=0(root),513(SMC\Domain
Users),3000005(SMC\Group Policy Creator Owners),3000009(SMC\Enterprise
Admins),512(SMC\Domain Admins),3000007(SMC\Schema Admins)

Problem with ssh-keygen
Dear Developer,
I'm having problem running ssh_keygen on my solaris 7 box. Can you
please tell me as to why I'm getting this error as described below? I
don't have that problem with solaris 8 that runs SMCossh 3.0.2p1
Thanks in advance.

change uid/god below 100
Hi.
Only indirectly related to zfs. I need to test diskusage/performance
on zfs shared via nfs. I have installed nevada b64a. Historically
uid/gid for user www has been 16/16 but when I try to add uid/gid www
via smc with the value 16 I''m not allowed to do so.
I''m coming from a FreeBSD backgroup. Here I alter uid using vipw and
edit /etc/group afterwards.

DNS Domain Name vs Samba4 Domain Name vs NT4 Domain Name
Hi,
I am unclear on the relationship between the hostname, DNS domain,
server's FQDN, NT4 domain name, etc.
Quoting the HOWTO:
"For the rest of the HOWTO we will assume that your DNS domain name is
samdom.example.com,
your short (also known as NT4) domain name is samdom,
your Samba server's hostname is samba
and the IP Address of your Samba server is 192.168.1.2."

column selection for aggregate()
Hi everybody!
I'm working on R today so I have a lot of questions (you may have
noticed that it's the 3rd email today). I'm new on R, so please excuse
the "spam"!
I have a dataset "ssfa" with many rows and the column names are:

Bluetooth, palm, ppp and shorewall
Hi Folks!
I''m new to shorewall (in the process of switching from Bastille), and I
have a question as to how to address using Bluetooth enabled Palms with
a BT dongle on a linux box protected by shorewall.
Basically I followed the directions located at
http://www.metacon.ca/bcs/view.php?page=bluetooth
to get things working strictly with iptables, specifically:

SVA looks very promising. It would be great to be able to run
unmodified C safely!
However, it does not seem to address my original question: how can I
ensure that code cannot DoS either the memory subsystem, or the CPU?
In my proposal, I could execute said code in a concurrent process with
a memory quota. How would SVA address that problem?

help in expression( )
Hi,
I was trying to have a graph whose axes are of the following type:
X axis: n and Y axis: var[U ((a,b) in suffix, and (n,d) in the power)].
U ((a,b) in suffix, and (n,d) in the power)- U^(n,d) _ (a,b).
Actually I require many plots involving different values of a,b,n,d, so need to keep this complicated notation.
The code I used:

SYSVOL ACLs and GPOs
Hi,
I have installed a virtual testing network consisting of one samba4 PDC
(latest git master) and one Windows XP Pro SP3 (fully updated)machine.
I have successfully provisioned an AD Domain and joined the XP machine
to it.
When I run the gpmc on the XP Pro machine and select:

What a Difference a NIC makes
Just to throw this out there for the group. I had a box of OEM SMC NICs and have been using them in all systems I build including * boxes. They seem to work great in Windows machines and even plain old Linux workstations but apparently not all that well when realtime is required. I would get random and usually sparse disconnects and lose registrations with phones and IAX peers. I kept getting

Cannot share MSAccess DB after upgrade 3.0.5 to 3.0.8
This is really strange.
The samba server in question is a domain member server
on a Windows NT 4.0 Domain network. It runs Gentoo
2004.3 with a 2.4.24 kernel.
The Gentoo server was upgraded from Samba 3.0.5 to
3.0.8 last night. After the upgrade, the server had
to be re-joined to the domain. After that, everything
appeared to be working.
This morning we found that the MSAccess database files

smbstatus connection.tdb not initialised
HI,
I recently upgraded from SAMBA 2.0.7 to SAMBA 2.2.2. I downloaded the
binaries (from samba.org binary packages) for
HP UX 10.20. I am able to map drives and print however when
I execute smbstatus (even at the root level) I get
connections.tdb not initialised.
This file does not exist in the /var/opt/samba/locks directory.
I changed my log level to 3 to try to see what is going on but

Don't deprecate TCPOnly please!
Hey, Tinc developers!
I'm not sure if anyone else has brought this up, but we've got a rather good reason for using TCP, even though UDP will actually form a working connection. Anyone on Comcast's "small business" service is forced to use an SMC cable modem/router. Its NAT implementation is capable of letting tinc's UDP tunnels work fine, but they limit a single UDP

A very basic question:
How can I make R read some S+ files that I had originally. The source
command says "file format unknown"
