IO Error occured at <except.c>:79 in xraise (IOError)
Hi,
after a long indexing run I got the following error. I have 149 MB space
left on the disk, the index is 311 MB large; could Ferret have tried to
use more than that for the optimizing? Or would that have resulted in a
different error message?

DRb server crashing
I''m having a problem where the DRb server seems to be disappearing
(crashing?) and I don''t know how to track down the cause or work around
the problem.
Unfortunately I haven''t found a way to reproduce the problem, but it
seems to happen fairly often (maybe once a day). Other then that ferret
seems to be working well.
I can''t seem to find any trace of the

Debugging woes
I am trying to debug this mockup, it runs fine from the shell, but when I run it from within emacs with rubydb, I get an exception. I''ve tried this in the past, running a test from within emacs and it failed. I think it has something to do with the environment. I''m not sure how I should invoke the interpreter to give ActiveRecord access to what it needs. Currently I just call it

Unit test failure - nil object?

How to write unit tests with respect to model callbacks?
Hello,
I am exploring the "Testing" part of Rails, but It seems some things
work differently than I thought it would.
Consider the following model:
class Client < ActiveRecord::Base
has_one :project
def after_create
Project.new(:name => self.name, :is_client => true, :client_id
=> self.id).save
end
def after_update

[0.10.0] Random error when big import
In a rails script (something in the "script" dir with the good require)
I added many document (around 4000) to an index globaly instanciate (and
build if not present) in config/environment.rb.
I ran 3 three times my script (I deleted my index every time before),
and only the third was successful. That was STRANGE ! :)

Strange ActiveRecord error popping up
Hello guys, I''m developing a new app in Rails, and every now and then
I get an ActiveRecord error, I cannot reproduce exactly what triggers
it, hope you can help me, or give me tips on debugging this kind of
stuff. This time I got the error reporting page, but normally I would
just see the 500.html page, with no info about what went wrong.
This is the error (it''s the complete

ActiveRecord Error?
We spent a big chunk of yesterday hunting down a strange bug in one of
our rails apps and created a test project to try out different theories
on what was going on. The result so far is a very small test case app
that perfectly reproduces the problem. The question is, is there
anything *wrong* with what we''re doing here, or is it a problem with
ActiveRecord? We''re on rails

MySQL losts connection, can''t refer to User
Hi
Another problem here. After the upgrade to 1.1 both rails and engines,
my app on windows crashes very often on requests. It can''t refer to User
model or losts connection to mysql. It appears like 2-3 times per 10
requests.
Eg.

[ActsAsFerret] Index Directory Disappears and Not Re-created
Hi,
This is a recurring issue for me - the index directory on my production
server and everything below it occasionally disappears and isn''t
reconstructed. I tried manually creating the entire index path manually
before starting the server, but it still happened while the server is
running.
I don''t know what''s causing the index to disappear and I''m also not
