Need something like multiple plots in ts.plot but then change x values
Hi: I need to plot two data sets and then I need to change labels of xaxis. I can manage to achieve something like it with this: x<-data.frame(a=c(1,2,3,4,5),b=c(2,4,6,8,10)) y<-data.frame(a=c(3,4,5),b=c(1.5,2,2.5)) xts <- ts(x$b,start=x$a[1]) yts <- ts(y$b,start=y$a[1]) ts.plot(xts, yts, col=c("red","blue")) But ts.plot does not allow to change x labels. Besides,

Spectral Coherence
Greetings, I would like to estimate a spectral coherence between two timeseries. The stats : spectrum() returns a coh matrix which estimates coherence (squared). A basic test which from which i expect near-zero coherence: x = rnorm(500) y = rnorm(500) xts = ts(x, frequency = 10) yts = ts(y, frequency = 10) gxy = spectrum( cbind( xts, yts ) ) plot( gxy $ freq, gxy $

Plotting 3 Time Series
Hi, I am fairly new to R so this may be easy for some. I have one column that is the Type="A, B' T" and I have another column that lists Price='894, 895, 896' I wanted to plot three different series based upon the Type...If B than xts..If T yts... How exactly do I do this? Thanks in advance -- View this message in context:

another multivariate ts bug
I think this is another one of the same kind of bugs in ts: Version 0.64.1 (May 8, 1999) ... > z <- ts(matrix(1:20,10,2), start=c(1969,1), frequency=12) > (z > 5) | (z < 2) Error: invalid time series parameters specified > Paul -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-devel mailing list -- Read

plotting multiple series in one plot
say we have: > x<-data.frame(a=c(1,2,3,4,5),b=c(1,1,1.5,2,2)) > y<-data.frame(a=c(1,2,3,4,5),b=c(1,2,2,3,3)) How would I plot this so that, with the shared $a as the x-axis values, I have both $b columns plotted together? errors appears in my time Series regression fomula
Dear all, I found really difficult with the time series questions, please help me with this monthly airline series! I have run the following r code, and there is an error appeared at the end. The data files was enclosed in the email. I'm sorry the errors message appeared in chinese, but it says "plot.xy(xy.coords(x, y), type = type, ...) : errors in argument has more than 3

Add another set of labels in a plot for X axis
I have a protein sequence alignement and for each position of the alignement, I want to plot two values (one per sequence). Alignements look like this: MVAFKGVWTQAFWKAVTAEFL --------MCSISRKMAAEFI So, data for the plot would be something like this Prot 1 values: 1 5 2 7 4 3 5 6 8 2 2 7 6 4 2 8 5 8 2 3 7 3 Prot 2 values: 1 8 5 0 5 3 4 1 2 2 3 7 0 Aligned Prot 1

logistic regression
Hi everyone, I'm sorry if this turns out to be more a statistical question than one specifically about R - but would greatly appreciate your advice anyway. I've been using a logistic regression model to look at the relationship between a binary outcome (say, the odds of picking n white balls from a bag containing m balls in total) and a variety of other binary parameters:

converting null to some values
Hi, I have newbie question. Suppose I have the following data: temp <- data.frame(type1 = c("male", "female", "male", "female", "female"), type2 = c("low", "med", "high", "low", "med"), a = c(1,2,4, NA, 3), b = .... [TRUNCATED] temp type1 type2 a b c 1 male low 1 5 0 2 female

Stacked bar plot of frequency vs time
Hi All, New to R, but committed. I looked in a number of places but can't figure out my current problem. I have date of the type: Time Type1 Type2 Type3 1 .50 .25 .25 4 .55 .25 .20 5 .65 .20 .15 etc which describe the frequency of types 1, 2 and 3 (adding up to 100%) over time. I would like to create a stacked bar chart showing these

[LLVMdev] bitconvert for multi-typed RegisterClasses
Hi All, I'm working on a back end for an architecture that makes use of multi- typed register classes. def MR: RegisterClass<"namespace", [type1, type2, ... ], ... > When running some preliminary tests I found that the instruction selector refused to select certain ops (specifically stores) for some instructions when the operand type wasn't the first type for the

Ggplot: free x-scales in a facet-grid
Hello, I have a ggplot that has the looks of the plot that I want, but it doesn't have the right layout. The data is an ordered melted dataframe: - ID - type (to use for a faced grid) - time - type - time - value (POSIXct) - pos (to use for a faced grid, this is an index to split the plot) The goal of the plot is to create a time line for each ID (different points of time). The ID's

Predicting with a principal component regression model: "non-conformable arguments" error
Hello all, I have generated a principal components regression model using the pcr() function from the PLS package (R version 2.12.0). I am getting a "non-conformable arguments" error when I try to use the predict() function on new data, but only when I try to read in the new data from a separate file. More specifically, when my data looks like this #########training data

Setting up infile for R CMD BATCH
Suppose I create an R program called myTest.R with only one line like the following: type <- as.integer(readline("input type (1: type1; 2: type2)? about data export
Hello all, This is Meghana. Well, I have some analysis output in 3 dimensional array form. for example: , , type1 A B C D 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 , , type2 etc. This array is very big. and I want to export this to either text form or excel(csv is preffered) so that different parts of aaray should be easily extractable from that excel/text sheet. How can I go about it? Thank

setOldClass("xts")
Hello, I apologize that I am cross posting here after getting no answer from my initial question on stack overflow <http://stackoverflow.com/questions/33492601/r-setoldclass-only-if-needed>. I should certainly have posted it first here.. I am using 3 packages: - xts - quantmod - 'myPackage' quantmod is creating a union class by doing: setOldClass("xts");

xts conversion problem
I have two data frames, with two columns each, the first being a Date variable. I would like to convert them to xts objects, indexed by the Date column. I would like to use as.Date and not as.POSIXct as the dateformat. The puzzling fact is that it works for the first one but not the other. Here is a screenshot of the error: > str(DF1) 'data.frame': 367 obs. of 2 variables: $

Efficiency question
Given the following snippet.... m.nf.xts <- xts(rep(0, length(index(m.xts))), order.by=index(m.xts)) Does R know to cache the index(m.xts) or is it more efficient to say... m.i <- index(m.xts) m.nf.xts <- xts(rep(0, length(m.i)), order.by=index(m.i)) ? cheers Worik [[alternative HTML version deleted]]
