Comination of two barcharts and one xyplot
Hi Rhelpers, I would like to have some help with a plot which is beyond my capabilities. This plot that I am seeking involves an overlay of two different barcharts and one xyplot. The code that I have used is the following : #save(df1,file="M:\\KBR\\df1.RData") load(file="M:\\KBR\\df1.RData") # df1$Year.ord created to obtain the right order i.e. 2015M < 2015K

Weighted median
Is there a weighted median function out there similar to weighted.mean() but for medians? If not, I'll try implement or port it myself. The need for a weighted median came from the following optimization problem: x* = arg_x min (a|x| + sum_{k=1}^n |x - b_k|) where a : is a *positive* real scalar x : is a real scalar n : is an integer b_k: are negative and positive scalars

testing coeficients of glm
Dear list, i'm trying to test if a linear combination of coefficients of glm is equal to 0. For example : class 'cl' has 3 levels (1,2,3) and 'y' is a response variable. We want to test H0: mu1 + mu2 - mu3 =0 where mu1,mu2, and mu3 are the means for each level. for me, the question is how to get the covariance matrix of the estimated parameters from glm. but perhaps there

panel ordering in nlme and augPred plots
Dear all I am trying nlme together with Pinheiro/Bates book. I constructed grouped data object with suitable plotting layout (according to some common factor, panels from bottom to top are in increasing order). When I do nlme(... some stuff...) I get fitted object which I can plot with plot(augPred(fit.nlme6, level=0:1)) but it results in completely different ordering. Is there any way

unorder an ordered factor
Given an ordered factor, how does one unorder it? I tried various commands with reorder, with order=F, but they all gave me error messages. I also tried to drop the order with various 'as dot something' commands, but these didn't work either. -- View this message in context: http://n4.nabble.com/unorder-an-ordered-factor-tp2014745p2014745.html Sent from the R help mailing list archive

[LLVMdev] The configure script seems to strip some / from path
Hi LLVMers, The root of my SRC_DIR is: /home/hb/projects/src/llvm-1/llvm/ and the root of my OBJ_DIR is: /home/hb/projects/build/FC1/llvm-1-1. However, the configure script seems to have stripped some of the / from the paths: Makefile.common:63: /home/hb/projects/buildFC1llvm-1-1/Makefile.config: No such file or directory Makefile.common:69: /home/hb/projects/srcllvm-1/Makefile.rules: No such

smbclient and large file support
smbclient (and smbtar) in version 2.2.7a (and prior) has problems with large files (> 4GB). The following patch (against 2.2.7a) fixes all known problems with this. This code has been checked into the CVS tree in all branches as well. -- ====================================================================== Herb Lewis Silicon Graphics Networking Engineer

how to recode an ordered factor
Dear R helpers, I'm trying to recode an ordered factor to reverse its scale, but I can't figure out how to make it. I am using the Recode function provided by the Car package. I've created an ordered variable: data$o.var1 <- ordered(data$var1, levels=c(1,2,3,4), labels =c("very satisfied", "fairly satisfied", "not very satisfied", "not at all

[LLVMdev] 'make check' failed with: ... PHI node entries do not match predecessors! ...
Hi, Now, I've build the tools and the cfe. However, 'make check' gave me the attached results. Summarized as follows: # of expected passes 1081 # of unexpected failures 26 # of expected failures 32 I configured llvm with following options: '--prefix=/home/hb/llvm/ --enable-targets=host-only'. I used gcc version 3.4.2 to build the tools and cfe. The cfe is version:

Hi Henrik, You don't have the latest C/C++ Front End Source code. Please update from CVS to get the fix for the 2005-06-15-ExpandGotoInternalProblem.c test. Note the date of the test (5 days ago).
