UNSUBSCRIBE
Marcus, I did try to do that several days ago, got the email, confirmed my desire to unsubscribe, and wad told that my "request would soon be acted upon" Yet I continue to get these messages. I'd love to have just a way to receive only message chains where I either started the question or am contributing. I don't need to see ALL the comms on the list, however this old-school

Unsubscribing
OK, this is going to seem sad, but I can not get unsubscribed from wine-users. Sent 3 messages to Majordomo@winehq.com with unsubscribe wine-users in the body, and get back "**** unsubscribe: 'cacook@freedom.net' is not a member of list 'wine-users'." And sending a request to wine-users-approval@winehq.com nets me "unknown local-part

unsubscribing because...
I think it's a sad sign when the mailing list is more about how to manage access to the wiki than actually managing contributions and the content. I don't really have any confidence that centos wants a vibrant community. The recent change list at http://wiki.centos.org/RecentChanges isn't really a good sign. Sorry, but I felt if I simply unsubscribed and disappeared quietly, I'd

Computer algebra in R - would that be an idea??
>From time to time people request symbolic computations beyond what D() and deriv() etc can provide. A brief look at the internet shows that there are many more or less developed computer algebra packages freely available. Therefore, I wondered if it would be an idea to try to 'integrate' one of these packages in R, which I guess can be done in more or less elegant ways... I do not know

stack level too deep when parsing xml
I''m trying to figure out why I''m getting a stack level too deep error. I have controller which parses xml (about 1400 lines) and ingests it into mysql. First I was getting a system stack error every time, but then I found the ulimit -s command which allows me to raise it from 8mb to 64mb. That solved the problem I thought, But now, I can parse the xml once, but when I do it

BUG: scp -r follows symlinks
hey all 'scp -r ' follows symlinks. IMO this is a bug and should be changed - it: a) hampers the use of scp. As it stands, I cannot use 'scp -r' because of this behavior. If someone links to '/', or if I hit a recursive symlink, I'm screwed. b) It is inconsistant with cp. When you 'cp -r' on a file, it does NOT follow the symlink. When you scp

Asterisk choking on voice messages announcements
Hi Everyone, I have a weired situation where calls in and out are proceessed all right but when I dial *97 Asterisk is literally choking when it comes to announcements like "Password" or "Call from 205-456-2222". Each one of those announcements can take like 10+ seconds to finish with most of it not even compoundable. I run "top" and there is no heavy load on CPU or

Please announce on comp.protocols.smb
I would like to suggest that you announce new releases on the comp.protocols.smb news group. I realize that you have an announcement mailing list, but with my mail box clogged with spam, I am trying to avoid subscribing to mailing lists. I also hear that there is a mailing.unix.samba-technical news group, but that is not carried by all the news servers. The comp.protocols.smb news group seems

So, i've been writing code in R interfacing with mysql, its been fun and the documentation has been useful, learning quite a bit. the only annoying thing i've been encountering is while coding/debugging, my session gets clogged, especially with sql connections. At the end of the code i dbDisconnect, but when the script is stopped by an error, the session stays open. Usually i'll

Are tildes actually valid in templates or is this a bug?
Hi all, First off, we''re running Puppet 2.7.6 with Ruby 1.8.7 on CentOS 6.0. Now, I''m using tildes in a template to prevent newlines from appearing but ruby/puppet is choking on them. */tmp/puppet$ cat test.erb* Line 1: Line 2 will exist if running on CentOS. <% if operatingsystem == "CentOS" ~%> Line 2: Yay, we''re running CentOS. <% end ~%>

Ajax errors in safari
I am implementing some AJAX features into a web forum, and one feature works fine in Firefox and in IE, but it is choking in Safari. Safari will send the request fine and the data will be stored in the DB, but it is not responding correctly to the RJS that is being sent back. Anybody notice issues with Safari parsing the javascript sent back to the browser? -- Timothy Johnson

Hello, > get tons of errors - it appears to be choking on lines like the following: What is the target you're generating code for? Actually, not target (which seems to be x86), but subtarget?
