(in our case, each row containing anywhere from a paragraph of text to many pages) Here''s some background on our search efforts. A. Hyper

It was deployed yesterday in a little over 4 months of development with 3 developers. A rails sitemap plugin
Hi, guys: I wrote a sitemap plugin for rails yesterday. This plugin will generate the public/sitemap.xml from config/sitemap.rb whose format is very familiar to config/routes.rb. I think it is very helpful if you have a website written by rails and want it to be crawled by spiders such as google, yahoo and baidu. The home page of the plugin is http://github.com/flyerhzm/sitemap/tree/master The

Rails 2.3.9 breaks sessions with Active Record or Memcache store
A Rails 2.3.9 app with Active Record or Memcache session store will never send the session ID cookie to a client if the client doesn''t send any HTTP cookies in its requests. Rails integration tests didn''t catch this because they always send the HTTP_COOKIE header, even if it''s empty. This is a huge bug, as it can break keeping sessions on sites which don''t set

keep sessions while switching domains
Hello, Our rails app has several domains. We are now implementing a single https connection https://secure.domain.xx. All other domains need to switch to that new secure domain in certain circumstances. We only have one ssl cert and it is not possible to create and use a ssl cert for all domains! Authentication with Cookies instead of CookieStore Sessions
I would like to persist the user authentication between user sessions (basically a "remind me" by default). Sessions expire while cookies persist: why should I use a session for authentication and then another different cookie for the "remind me"? Can''t I simply store a cookie whith a token and use it for both authentication and persistence? -- Posted via

Naming convention and search engines
Hi all: The following is an Search Engine Optimization tip that is fairly common in most of the SEO checklists that I have read. Hyphens - Use hyphens ( - ) and not underscores ( _ ) to separate words in directory and file names. Most search engines parse a hyphen like a reader would parse a space. Using underscores makes what_would_you_do look like whatwouldyoudo to most search engines. You

This would allow them to change their

Auth. from Win2k Works
